it's going to suck when the weather turns crappy and I can't even get walks in at work.
I have that same dilemma. Right now I usually do stairs instead of a walk if it's too hot out (or raining or whatever). But some days I don't want to do stairs because it's too much for my legs. I haven't figured out what to do instead.

Geesh, your workouts get better and better! You are so strong!
And I am dreading the crappy weather, really dreading it. I hate to run inside and I think I may start stocking up on cold gear just so I can keep up with the outside running.

3000 cals/day is a LOT! I rarely got there when I wore my bodybugg and I'm a total spaz. If I average 2400 I'm lucky.
Workouts are looking really good, Jane! When I come out in November I think we should go to the gym together and I'll help scare away that creepy guy okay?
I've started stocking up on cold weather running gear - man that stuff is EXPENSIVE!!!! But if it saves me from spending lots of time on the treadmill it'll be worth every penny!
You're gonna nail that 95# BP next time - I know it!
I always preferred running when it was cold(er) out... above 60 and I overheat! Although the runny nose wasn't a lot of fun, but... somewhere in the 40's or 50's is my idea of perfect running weather.
I am NOT a runner (since I'm build like a Mack truck) but I LOVE outdoor exercise in the winter ... cross country skiing, snowshoeing, hiking (if there's no snow). The gear makes all the difference. I like windblock fleece ... and I have these tights that are like fleece on the inside and smooth on the outside. They wick sweat and are stretchy and comfy and warm. Those with my gaitors over them (knee high) and my jacket covering my butt and I'm all set. I also almost always wear a hat ... and I have a neck warmer thingy that I use if the wind is blowing otherwise I'll get asthma.

Lol, I am also a spaz. 2500-2600 is a good day for me, too.
Glad I'm not the only one!

I'm totally with you on that Julie! One thing I really really hate is running when it's snowy out. Well, I hate running altogether, but when I used to TRY to be a runner, it would freak me out to run w/snow on the ground because I was terrified of slipping on hidden ice. I like walking outdoors in the winter though. I'll be doing that a lot this year after we get our puppy!!!

I live close to where they built Mack trucks. I used to build Mack trucks. I know Mack trucks. You, my darling, are no Mack truck.
So, last night was the first meeting of the Member Advisory Group at my gym. Not sure if it will really be worth my time. I'll go to the next meeting and give it a try, I guess. No perks to being a member, either. One of the members (female) last night suggested we put something in the monthly newsletter telling members to not be naked in the locker rooms because she does not want to see naked people. WHAAAAT?? So, you can see why I'm doubting whether or not this will be worth my time. Give me a break.
Watched the Biggest Loser last night. Anyone else catch Jillian saying "whatever you guys do, don't starve yourselves" in response to the news that they all had to lose about 10 lbs in a week. Then, she announced during their "nutrition" meeting that they were all to eat 1200 calories and burn 6,000 a day! Can you believe that!?! A burn of 3,000 is HARD work for me. I can't imagine burning 6,000 a day on 1200 calories. Of course, these folks are double my size, but still!
I saw that part last night Jane. I actually did a double take when I heard them say eat 1200 and burn 6000! I can not IMAGINE 6000 in a day! If I burn about 100 calories for every mile I run, and that is being generous...that would be 60 miles!!!!! WTF And on 1200 calories my goodness.
And whats up with no nekkie in the locker room? They talked about that in a recent episode of the fit cast. The only thing I have a problem with is sitting on benches naked...gross! But if you want to walk around in your birthday suit, more power to ya. I won't be doing it anytime soon. I was one of those girls in high school who could do the bra/sports bra change under my shirt without blinking an eye.

Yeah - DH and I were talking about that too - and the men were supposed to burn 8000 per day!!!!!! On low cals!!!
I have such a love/hate relationship with that show... I love the good parts, but sometimes I can't believe the "only" put two people in the hospital the first week, ya know?

Ok...the not being naked in the locker room is just ridiculous. I WISH I was that comfortable enough with my body to be nekkid in there! More power to you ladies who are nekkid in the locker rooms.
As far as TBL...my guess would be, (being over 300lbs and all) if I can burn around 3200-4000 calories at work all day, only working out an hour a day at my size, then how hard can it really be for them to burn 6000, especially seeing as they are there working out all day and walking everywhere! (the women) And I used to think that my calories needed to be MUCH higher due to my size, when in reality they need to be around 1300 for me to lose! I still think it's individual to each person ...making all of them stay under 1200 is insane unless that's really what it takes for them to lose...but...the numbers don't sound quite as bad to me now having had some numbers to compare it to of my own. Just thought I'd share that...
WTF? Aren't locker rooms where you're SUPPOSED to be nekkid? Isn't that the point? How can you shower and change without, at some point, being nekkid (Beesknees excluded since she can change while dressed apparently ).
Did you guys see the article on TBL in IDEA Fitness Journal?
(You may have seen this link already in a jp thread that asked trainers for questions to ask the Biggest Loser trainers.)

That's EXACTLY what I said. I was looking at this lady like she had two heads.....WTF. She kept going on and on and on and on about how she can't stand to see naked people. It got to be quite hysterical, actually. Guess she's probably pretty repressed.
*phew* I've had quite the meanie complex since that happened and I am relieved that I wasn't completely off base.
Sorry. We'll try to give you more fun and enjoyable complexes in the future.

*still not pulling quite as strong as I had been. I was tempted to keep going up with 1 rep sets, but my back was a bit tweaky today. I thought I'd done more than one rep at 155, but can't find it in my logs, so I think this is a PR for reps. From here on out, I think I've just got 1RM's under my belt, so need to work on cranking out some more reps.

The book "Locker Room Diaries" is quite a fun read, good for an airplane trip and some navel-gazing (in this case literally).

x2. I couldn't watch it last night after the week before--it was nutz. Even my compulsion to stare at Jillian's body was curbed after all that screaming and stuff. (It's not what you're thinking! I'm the same height and shape as she is! I wanna see what short stocky people with muscles look like at 15%!)

I was gonna ask if maybe she had a dress like this on. Poor thing, really.
I saw that too, Jane! So many parts of that show make me cringe, but I can't stop watching it - I just can't. I am sucked in and can't turn away.
Nice looking workouts, M'dear.
