What a wonderful, wonderful holiday weekend!! Four days off work and lovely weather. Got a ton of shit done and had fun, too. Just great!

Friday, I planted my 20' x 20' veggie garden. Whew! Put in 20 tomato plants (5 different kinds), 25 pepper plants (5 different kinds), 6 broccoli plants, 3 rows of lettuce (3 differnt kinds), 2 rows of onions, zucchini, squash, cucumber, and a row of cantaloupe. It looks so good!

I did a TON of yard work....mowing, trimming, edging, weeding, mulching, planting, etc, etc, etc.

Sunday, I went to the rib burnoff (didn't do too much damage). My goal was to get a picture for Jill of the "Rock of Love" tour bus since Brett Michaels was in town. But, I missed him by a day! Had a great time and great weather.

After the ribs, I went to the historic Lakeview Cemetery in Cleveland. Such a very cool place. Toured Garfield's monument and saw the Tiffany-designed Wade Chapel (so gorgeous!). I love that cemetery. http://www.lakeviewcemetery.com/famous_residents.html

It would be the PERFECT place for a photographer..check these out: http://www.lakeviewcemetery.com/guest_photo.asp

Yesterday I spent more time gardening and just hanging out. It just was the perfect weekend. Got in one good lifting workout and TONS of walking the other days. Lifting again tonight and monthly BF measurement tomorrow.

WSFL Day 18

Well, I'm still not feeling the greatest. And, no, it has nothing to do with the deficit I am in. It's totally unrelated, but it's an ailment that has me completely out of sorts. Couldn't do my HIIT/SS cardio tonight. I did my carb day today instead of tommorow, in the hopes that it will give me a good lifting day tomorrow. Fingers crossed.

Scale is up...been bouncing around the last few days.

Hi Jane,

I have a question for you about WSFL. I just bought it and am considering doing it. I just noticed some discrepancies between the meal plans and the template. On meals 4 and 6 in particular (I'm using the 130 template) the mealplan often has meals that only total 1 protein yet the template states 2 protein servings. For instance 2 O-3 eggs or 1/3 c cottage cheese. Have you fond similar discrepancies and would you advise following the mealplan or template? I could easily add 3 egg whites to account for the missing protein but just wanted a second opinion.

Thanks,

Nicole

I just go by the template since I'm not using most of the meal plans.

2 more questions for you. I hope you don't mind.

1. In circuit A, A2 reverse lunge: do you do both sides in each circuit or do you alternate one side in first circuit, other side in the next circuit?

2. In Circuit B, B1 squat and press: is this to parallel? I assume it is more than a push press but is it a full squat?

Thanks for your help!

Nicole

1. You do 6 reps each side per set

2. This a full squat. I go ATG.

WSFL Day 19

Well, I completely went off and did my own workout today instead of what was prescribed via WSFL. I just needed to do my own thing and see how I felt. Couldn't lift too heavy or it would aggravate my ailment. But, still managed a pretty good workout and worked up quite a sweat. Here it is:

Deadlifts
6x125
4x130
2x135
1x140

Squats
5x65
5x70
5x75
5x80
5x85
5x90

One Arm DB Snatch
4x22.5
4x25
4x27.5

O/H Squat
10 x 9 lb bar
10 x 9 lb bar
*really focused on keeping bar behind ears and keeping back pinched. Went completely ATG slowly touching calf to hamstring and slowly back up, pushing thru heels and keeping toes up.

BB Split Squat
5x45
5x55
5x65

Superset with rest
Pullups and Chinups assisted with band
10 pullups
9 chinups
5 pullups
6 chinups

Then, took Violet for a walk and didn't do any additional interval work. Feeling better today, but still not 100%. Should be 100% by Monday, I think.

UGH! I spent all day (and it's a BEAUTIFUL day here in Ohio today) inside the ER with my mom. UGH! Nothing serious.....a UTI infection, but I knew she couldn't wait until Monday and, even then, you can't get through to her doctor on a Monday. So, off we went to the ER. And, MANY hours later, got the script for the antibiotics. OMG, I am so strung out from the whole ordeal. ALL day with no food, except for the vending machine. Not the best choices there, you can just imagine!

I just finished off a big dinner of grilled chicken tossed with pasta, roasted red peppers, EVOO, onions, garlic, tomatoes, and red pepper flakes. And, I am on my second glass of wine. Not WSFL prescribed, that's for sure! But, I prescribed it for my sanity!!!!! Damn the carb-up scale results! WTH!

And, since we were AT the ER, I probably SHOULD have had my ailment looked at, but I did not. I may make my mom go to the doc, but I rarely take myself. Hate doctors.....(sorry to all the docs out there that are my close friends!!).

So, weigh-in and measurements tomorrow or Monday and it probably won't be as good as I had hoped..,....between all my pain in the ass crap and now today. Bleh.
