Yup it was - it's a fun class as many of the people in it have been taking it a while, so there's been some camaraderie built up over time. Heck we even party together every so often. lol
Metabolic Overdrive - 1 minute high intensity/2 minutes moderate
4 Rounds - 6.0/3.5, 6.1/3.6, 6.1/3.6, 6.2/3.7
I think I could get used to this... With each round I tried, I was nearly giddy with how fast (for me) I was going. I remember a time not too long ago when 4.0 would've been a stretch, and here I am at 6.0+
Thanks Victoria - rest weeks are tough because I feel like I should be doing something (lifting) but I'm not. But I also know that the rest is allowing my body to fully repair itself for the onslaught of FL 2.
onslaught is right.... My poor arms feel like rubber this morning

Sounds like a great class....makes the workout a lot more fun..
My uncle's birthday party on Sunday but no real plans other than to go out for happy hour tonight. Actually I might end up visiting a couple of places tonight - depending on how I feel. You?

Keep at it and you'll be amazed at where you are within a relatively short period of time. Your progress has already fantastic and you may soon discover yourself absolutely astounded by how far you've gone beyond that.
You're doing great Stingo!

Stingo, I assume you are running the high intensity part? How do you like it? I usually go about 6.5 - 7 mph and for me it's just shy of a pretty fast run. I don't like going much faster on the tready, just in case. So, I usually increase incline when I need to up the challenge. I'll be starting them again with my new program. I'm kind of looking forward to it.

Yes, I'm definitely running - the very first time I did 6.0 I felt kind of out of control, but subsequent sessions last week removed that concern. Thanks for the advice re: the incline, I was thinking of using that as a variation, like having a high speed day, a high incline day etc...
Speaking of new programs, I start Fat Loss II today. The week off has given me the desire to want to lift again (as well as having put on some unwanted weight). This time I'm hoping to get down to, and get well past 236, a weight I'd been at for months... But the difference is now I'll be bringing my A-game - the one that's allowed me to make progress in the past (more discipline regarding food choices as well as sticking to my workout schedule). In that sense I feel cautiously optimistic at this point, but I'll see for sure once I tackle FL2A today.
Dynamic Lunge 3x12@30
Upper Body Russian Twist 3x12
Well I didn't get destroyed like I thought I would - it was challenging, yes, but nowhere near the hardship that starting FL1 was so I guess I'm making progress. (But I also know that workout B is the bad boy in this routine.) It was good to be back to lifting again - I like the cycling of programs and rest weeks. At the end of Fat Loss I I was tired mentally and physically... now I can return to the weight room and resume lifting with a renewed sense of purpose.
Got a case of DOMS from yesterday's workout. Nothing severe, but I know it's there. Indicating of course that yesterday's workout was a good one and a nice switch from Fat Loss I. Workout B tomorrow's gonna be the killer - I'm kind of dreading it and looking forward to tackling it at the same time.
Bwuaaahaahaaahaaaa...FL2B is bad. When you start doing those BSS's with the OHP you'll want to die. Make sure you go light on the DBs. Have fun with it!

Heh they don't call it Fat Loss II: The Empire Strikes Back for nothing.... (esp since Fat Loss I: The New Hope was exactly that...)
Snatch Grip Deadlift 3x12@110 (substituted dumbbell DL)
T Pushup 3x12
Split Squat + Overhead Press 3x12@10
Underhand Lat Pulldown 3x12@90
Deadlift w/Row 3x12@35
Lower Body Russian Twist 3x12 (modified 2nd and 3rd set to lift only the knees, not the legs)
Well, I did it - it wasn't pretty nor was it by the rules, but I did it. I know I'd not have been able to make it through a workout like this when I started doing NROL in May, so the progress is definitely there. Not surprisingly, it was the toughest workout I've ever done and there's great satisfaction for having done it.
After I did the first BSS+OHP set, I had to hobble over to the lat machine, since the front of my quads were pretty much locked up solid. Thankfully it got better the more sets I did.
The T pushups were a challenge too but not quite as bad as I thought.
And lastly but not leastly the lower body twist had to be modified because 1)I'd not have been able to complete the reps/sets and 2) I had a cramp in my left leg on the right side of it.
I know this is about building cortisol but man I could swear I felt it when doing the RDL+Row. My head was saying I should be able to lift more, and the body clearly was disagreeing lol.
All in all a very good first attempt - like I said, I'd not have been able to get through this workout back in May when I started NROL.
Great job!! It's inspiring to read because it gives me hope that I WILL improve and I WILL get stronger. It's probably a good feeling to look back on those earlier workout logs and see your improvements in B&W.

It does - but I know how my body feels now - the transition from BreakIn to FL I was tougher I think because I wasn't as conditioned... Not that FL I to FL II is easy, but I had the advantage of having done a similar program (FL I) so i was more prepared.
