A Ab Rollout from Knees - 2x5, ending with 20 second hold
B DB Swing - 3x10@20
C Complex - 2x5@30 each side
C1 DB Clean
C2 DB Squat
C3 DB Press
C4 DB Push-up
C5 DB Row
D Circuit 3x10
D1 Reverse Lunge Jump Squats
D2 T's (T-Pushups without the pushup)
E Circuit 3x10@25
E1 Romanian Deadlift
E2 Piston Row
A Ab Rollout from Knees - These weren't as bad as I thought they were going to be, but then again I was doing them from the knees, not the feet.
B DB Swing - More of a loosening up exercise for C.
C Complex - This was the toughest part of the workout, especially the push-up and row.
D Circuit - Not too bad on this either. the T's are much easier without the push-ups lol.
E Circuit - Kind of felt the RDL in my lower back but not in a bad way. The piston rows were pretty good too.
Overall - A good workout, and one that I did better on I think because I'm successful in fighitng off the infection in my foot. Hopefully it will continue to heal.

Was that brittle really all you ate? Can you say : triggerfood.
Don't feel too bad about it.. I had 3 huge slips this week already.. re-confirmed why I never like to take an entire week off, 4-5 days is the most I can manage w/o diving into comfort foods.
While the effect is strongest from cardio, lifting does lift your spirits as well.
Just hop right back on the diet bandwagon.
Perhaps you'd want to skip the muesli after all and eat an egg + fruit-based breakfast instead? I've had pancakes a few days ago, but vastly prefer the good ole' omelette or even scrambled eggs (savoury or sweet). Grains in any form, even oats (muesli) make me hungry.. that soaking thing I used to do was a habit from at least 20 years ago Have long since stopped eating cereals for breakfast, they just make me too hungry (later on).
Can you see why I decided January to be the Bulking Month . However perhaps that's even more dangerous than deciding to go on a diet and just maintain.. embracing the bulk = scary food intake!
It's just amazing how many here broke down yesterday.. and not just because JP Forums was down all day (though that certainly did *NOT* help one bit...
You know what, Tom? I'm proud of you for logging your Brittle Breakdown. It is what it is. We all have those days and as long as we own them we can pick ourselves up and move on...
/wave I'm kinda hoping I don't have to but... I will probably call this afternoon to find out what's up.
Same here - as I said, the swelling's gone down a lot, to the point it was readily visible this morning (hence the drop in weight I think).
I just ran out of it myself this morning. An ounce a day on my diet plan is a welcome treat for breakfast in the morning.
*sigh* It's looking like I'm going to have to... I think I mentioned this already, but it may have been buried... I'm pre-diabetic and have hereditary poor circulation in my legs, particularly the left (can you guess which leg is the problem?). This was the issue (cellulitis) that hospitalized me back in 2005 (for IV antibiotics) for a few days. It's what got me turned on to a healthier way of living, and to be more proactive with getting my foot/leg treated when stuff happens. As it turns out, my fourth anniversary of the healthy living will occur on the Saturday of the Summit (May 16th).

Please take this to a doctor. Do not follow my bad example. I know that my result was extreme, but it's nothing to fool with. Try to get a referral to an infectious disease specialist and stop fooling around.

I agree--that's what used to be the beginning of the end for me, because I wouldn't log it, then I wouldn't weigh myself, etc etc etc. Hey, we all know you can come back from it anyway...

Agreed.
I'm afraid when I've had days like that, I didn't have the guts to post it and just stayed away for a few days.

Well, remember when I said pizza was a trigger food? It was our manager's birthday on Friday so we brought in cake, stromboli and pizza. I'd decided to have one of the chocolate peanut butter balls since someone in our department made them, but forgot to weigh it. So, I had to take another one to do so, and not wanting to put it back, I had it as well. Then the pizza... and stromboli... and the beer. The cheeseburger was mainly to counteract the effects of the alcohol. Not that I'd had that much, but better safe than sorry. So, one reason is, I really like pizza and stromboli (you'll notice there's no cake in the log), and I think I need to vary my food choices too, as I've been eating pretty much the same thing (barring happy hours) since I've started working with Alan. Not an excuse here, more of an explanation.

Yes, that's a good point. I started back to the gym this week (Saturday) so I can once again tie food to performance and hopefully that will provide some motivation too.

Been there, too, brother.
Get back on the bike, or horse, or wagon or whatever and ride!
Yes, the old ways die hard. Hard as it is to believe, there was a time I was doing that once a week regularly, along with other bad food days.

They happen.
I think mine was basically getting free of the food plan regimen and having something different. I'm going to try to vary my options so as not to feel tied to a particular one.

Heh well, Saturday was to finish off the stuff I'd picked up at the store the night before. Wasn't unhealthy, just, as you said, the macros were skunked.

I look at it as a historical record, and therefore it is what it is. If I've got the gumption to eat it, I've got to have the gumption for logging it. Only time I don't is when I have no idea how much I've had, or how to estimate the food choice in the logging program.

I have more meds from my primary doc. It feels like it's healing. Thanks for the concern Greg.

Yup, it's just a reminder to me of how I could eat and drink in the pre-healthy lifestyle era, and that those days are not as far in the past as I might like to think/believe.

Well done, Tom.
Thanks. I'm not having 18 minutes excerpted from my reporting if I can help it.

It's very nice, and I enjoy driving it. Still evaluating it on the snow.

Hmm how would "cheating" be defined? I'd suggest a pool, winner gets something fitness related, like a kettlebell.

I completely agree...varying your food will go a long way! I ran into that problem too...in the beginning, I was sticking with foods that I knew were ok or "safe"...and when I strayed it was because I felt trapped. That's why I started making all these meals in advance...3 diff things that way I have choices for dinner and lunch! Cooking light magazine has helped me out a lot...since the things in there are usually comfort foods or things you want to eat but think you can't...and they're done in a lighter way! Ok...sorry to take over!!!
Also...LOVE the kettlebell idea...and we'd have to really define the "cheating"...lol
A Circuit x 2
A1 Mountain Climbers - 1 minute; 45 secs, 15 secs
A2 T Pushups - 1x10 (5 each side)
B Circuit x 3 (Left Side then Right Side counts as one time through the circuit)
B1 Lunges - 1x5@40
B2 DB Press - 1x5@40
B3 DB Row - 1x5@40
C Circuit x 3
C1 Squat w/Overhead Press - 1x5@30
C2 DB Pullover - 1x5@30
C3 Prisoner Squats - 1x15@BW
D V-ups - 5x10
A Circuit - For whatever reason this was really difficult today. I couldn't get all the way through the second set, having to stop at the 45 second mark for a 10 second rest *sigh*.
B Circuit - This went surprisingly better than the first time I did it a week ago.
C Circuit - This was the surprise of the workout. I did much better here than on the first time I did this workout. I wonder if it just took my body a while to warm up after the rest week.
D V-ups - All sets have a 30 second rest in between, and by the end of the 5th set I was tiring.
Overall - A good workout, and, having been on rest week last week, it's good to be back into the swing of things.

just stopping by to say Hi and say that I had my first Brooklyn Brew Chocolate stout last night. Very tasty. Still think I may like the Young's better, but not by much.

I think you should have a contest for bragging rights and 'cause competitions are fun...
Love the workout Tom.. Do your quads burn?
My legs were hurting toward the end of the mountain climbers for sure.

Young's is more of a milk chocolate flavor whereas the Brooklyn is more of a dark chocolate flavor. I prefer dark chocolate.
