Yes, that's the ultimate goal - to get through each exercise in one set and not stop for rest between exercises. (I'm guessing that's what Tim does.)

Not much - went to happy hour as usual, and had 3 beers, which I'm thinking will be my allotment this week. I will probably end up cooking but I've no idea what. And yours?

Yup it was tough - I was hurting when I left the gym. In fact, my hands were shaking a bit as I was trying to close my gym bag. But, I did it. Some random person (trying to be helpful I'm sure) pointed out I should do the power cleans from the floor (I was stopping an inch or two above) for a better workout - to which I responded, "I'm trying" and laughed it off. (All the while thinking, you try doing 50 of these things AFTER having done exercises A-E...) Certainly a challenge though - in a way I guess I can take pride in the fact Tim feels he can give me such a workout. But dang, it requires more mental toughness than the previous one did.
The only downside to it I can see is that I can't do this one at home, since I'd need some kind of assisted pullup apparatus, which I don't.

don't you just love the unsolicited comments? I was deadlifting off a box, and some guy says "you are going to hurt your back doing those." and I said, "no, this is why my back is strong!". and then he admitted, yeah, I have a bad back, wish I could do those--it is a great exercise." then get yourself to whoever the julie is in your town, and train with whoever the ~lisa is in your town and shut your pie hole, asshole.

Hee hee yup - it's mostly about envy I think. I can't do it so you shouldn't either.
And I forgot to add the guy waited til my trainer left the floor for a couple of minutes.

Hey, don't take comments so negatively, these people often mean well.

That's the 300 (remember that movie?) workout, by the way.
Good work.

Ah I know - I was just trying to finish out the workout at that point though. Not to say that he wasn't right with his observation - I just wasn't in the mood to hear it at that point. lol

It looked kinda vaguely familiar, but didn't realize it. That explains why he had me doing 50 jump squats the other week - he substituted the plyo box jump with the step-ups but other than adjusting the weights the exercises are the same. So I guess without realizing it, I'm the guy doing the 300 workout. Guess I'll have to watch the movie now.
Edited to add... I'm not sure how to interpret this - on the one hand this definitely is a challenge and something I obviously need to do better at, but on the other hand I kind of feel I could've looked up the 300 workout myself and tried do it. The key factor being, would I have attempted it? Probably not - so maybe therein lies the value in a trainer.

hey regardless if you did not do them the way this man thought you should, that is one heck of a workout. I find it funny that at my gym the ones who don't look like they are working out at all, are the ones that find time to give advise. Now I must say I do like the advise most of the time. Not having a partner makes it tough to see if I am going low enough or maintaining the correct form. But when I am doing a 3x15 or 2x25 day with next to no rest. My goal is to just finish regardless of how silly or wrong I look doing the exercises.
Keep up the good work and enjoy the rewards of your work (Beer!!!)

Oh I don't doubt he was right - I should've been going from the floor, but at that point I just wanted the workout to be over. And yes I did have beer on Friday night.

Tonight's kitchen adventure is another attempt trying to recreate the chicken soup my grandmother made for us (my brother, sister and I) as kids. It's simmering now and initial taste testing has gone well.

Mmm. Homemade chicken soup sounds awesome. Your workout sounds kick ass! I don't really like unsolicited comments either. Luckily people rarely speak to me in the gym. Maybe I look too mean. Ha ha.

I thought you looked familiar! Hahahaha!
I agree, people rarely comment on my form either. I just plug in the iPod and do my thing. I get the rare comment, usually from someone I know. Or the quizzical glance.
When doing snatch grip deads once, I had this woman I know exclaim, '...what the hell are you doing...?' Sigh.
Deb
Good workout Tom, that looked killer. 50 reps? Yikes!

I'm getting super hot! What the hell are you doing, reading magazines on the treadmill again? That's what you should have told her!
Unfortunately I'm the type who would never say that, just think it.
