Just great work in here Tom! Your trainer really has been good for you and you are pushing yourself HARD.

I love the beer talk....don't really like beer, but I find the talk interesting.

That's quite a compliment, particularly coming from someone who can post an avatar of herself doing a handstand (pushup).

...but for a cute aside... While I was doing my first set of these, a woman and her little girl (age 5 to 7?) came to the workout area. I had just finished my set, and Tim pointed over to the little girl who had these tiny (neon green) weights set up, and she started to do renegade rows, with the pushup. After doing one set each side, she went back to put the dumbbells away only to come back with larger purple dumbbells to knock out a few more reps. lol I had to smile, even though I was in the midst of the 2nd set, especially when Tim began to encourage her.
Looks like another great workout, Tom!! I had to smile at the story of the little girl!

Default Rest Week

In view of the fact I'll be getting a new program from Tim on Friday, I think I'll take off from lifting for this week to give my body a chance to heal up/recover from the previous two months of work. It'd work out about the same anyhow since I trained with him today, so Wednesday would be the only lifting day. Now to figure out what to do on Monday and Wednesday.

Tom sounds like you are getting a great deal out of your training sessions as well. Isn't it wonderful to have someone by your side and helping you to do these new things? I am so glad I started this way. I know one day I will be happy to be mostly on my own but for now the trainer thing really works for me.

Tom,

I am not from PA, but my wife is from around Erie. I had some really good micro brews while up there for Christmas. I don't think they were the ones you mentioned, but next time I am up around there I will look for them.

Ideally, I'd like to have a knowledgeable, dedicated workout partner. This is the next best thing to that. The variety is what got me hooked, plus I feel that I'm being given stuff tailored to address my weaknesses.

Erie Brewing makes a really nice ale called Railbender Ale, they also have Mad Anthony's Ale too - check 'em out.

Thanks Jane - I thought about it but I doubt there's much difference due to the ummm recent influx of beer into my house. I typically wait 2 months anyhow between pics, but I might take a set to compare anyhow. The sucky thing is that Windows borked my webcam, so I can't take still shots with it anymore *sigh*. Might get a new webcam anyhow but still...

I brought a case home with me the year before! I must say I do like Yingling (sp?) black and tan. Not the highest quality stout out there, but now that they sell it here in TN I buy it when its on sale.

Yup I've had Yuengling Lager on tap at home before - nice, cheap, easy drinking beer. If you can find it? Try the Porter, it's better than the Lager.

Looks like Erie makes a stout - Drake's Crude, which seems be their winter seasonal.

Default Valentine Warmup 1

Pushups (hands on stability ball) 1x15
Assisted Pullups 1x15@-250
Wall Squat 1 minute
Plank with Leg Raise 1x10 (each side)
Rower 1000m

The corporate gym is having its Valentine Warmup - you can paste a part of Cupid to complete your Valentine heart for each exercise you do. Bow, Gifts, Body, Wings and Heart are the pieces. You can complete 3 such valentines in the course of this week, so I thought it would be a good way to do something, but not as intense as a full on weight workout.

I'd agree. This looks like a cakewalk compared to your workouts. Do you get something besides Cupid for completing your valentines?

Hey Tom,

I wish I had a workout partner too, then I could have an 'onsite spotter' !! Although I do see couples at the gym 'working out' together -- sometimes it looks more like a domestic dispute :-( which only reminds me why I am and stay single :-) hee heee.

Your assisted pull ups . . do you use a machine? What does the -250 mean?

Anyhoo, thanx for the inspiration. I enjoy your posts mucho -- Toni
