Yup it was - it's a fun class as many of the people in it have been taking it a while, so there's been some camaraderie built up over time. Heck we even party together every so often. lol

Metabolic Overdrive
Metabolic Overdrive - 1 minute high intensity/2 minutes moderate
4 Rounds - 6.0/3.5, 6.1/3.6, 6.1/3.6, 6.2/3.7
I think I could get used to this... With each round I tried, I was nearly giddy with how fast (for me) I was going. I remember a time not too long ago when 4.0 would've been a stretch, and here I am at 6.0+

You've had a remarkable journey sofar. Spinning classes really are a lot of fun, aren't they?

Yup that they are - while I do like doing the weight training and interval training, there's an added sociability with a class that I like.

Thanks Victoria - rest weeks are tough because I feel like I should be doing something (lifting) but I'm not. But I also know that the rest is allowing my body to fully repair itself for the onslaught of FL 2.

Spinning
Tour de France ride - this time through small hills and open road - faster cadence and lots of sweat. Good ride.

Hey Stingo! Wow, you're making some great progress with the HIIT on the treadmill. 6.2 is pretty darn fast.

Thanks Jill - for me it is, especially considering not too long ago anything around 4.0 was a stretch.

My uncle's birthday party on Sunday but no real plans other than to go out for happy hour tonight. Actually I might end up visiting a couple of places tonight - depending on how I feel. You?

Keep at it and you'll be amazed at where you are within a relatively short period of time. Your progress has already fantastic and you may soon discover yourself absolutely astounded by how far you've gone beyond that.
You're doing great Stingo!

Stingo, I assume you are running the high intensity part? How do you like it? I usually go about 6.5 - 7 mph and for me it's just shy of a pretty fast run. I don't like going much faster on the tready, just in case. So, I usually increase incline when I need to up the challenge. I'll be starting them again with my new program. I'm kind of looking forward to it.

Thanks Egham and Victoria...
Yes, I'm definitely running - the very first time I did 6.0 I felt kind of out of control, but subsequent sessions last week removed that concern. Thanks for the advice re: the incline, I was thinking of using that as a variation, like having a high speed day, a high incline day etc...
Speaking of new programs, I start Fat Loss II today. The week off has given me the desire to want to lift again (as well as having put on some unwanted weight). This time I'm hoping to get down to, and get well past 236, a weight I'd been at for months... But the difference is now I'll be bringing my A-game - the one that's allowed me to make progress in the past (more discipline regarding food choices as well as sticking to my workout schedule). In that sense I feel cautiously optimistic at this point, but I'll see for sure once I tackle FL2A today.

NROL Fat Loss II A
60 seconds rest after each exercise
Front Squat 3x12@90
Wide Grip Seated Row 3x12@150
Hip Extension w/Leg Curl 3x12
Push Press 3x12@40
Dynamic Lunge 3x12@30
Upper Body Russian Twist 3x12
Well I didn't get destroyed like I thought I would - it was challenging, yes, but nowhere near the hardship that starting FL1 was so I guess I'm making progress. (But I also know that workout B is the bad boy in this routine.) It was good to be back to lifting again - I like the cycling of programs and rest weeks. At the end of Fat Loss I I was tired mentally and physically... now I can return to the weight room and resume lifting with a renewed sense of purpose.

those weeks off get to be nice, at first I experienced them with a little anxiety, now I look forward to them, as well as the next workout.
