Ab Workout & Spinning
As noted, did a 15 minute or so ab workout as part of the gym's incentive program.
Spinning was tough today - heart rates in the 80-85% for a good part of the class, but without the fun of racing to keep things moving along. (Was a loop ride with a couple of hills.) Great workout.

The differences are definitely well noticeable, but I bet there's much more that has changed: fitness, confidence .. right?

I'm not so sure if it's confidence so much as not giving a damn about what people think lol. If being less self-conscious is part of being self-confident, then yeah, I'd say definitely more self-confident. Although the benefits of health etc are good, one of my goals is still a vain one - not to be embarrassed to take my shirt off. (Progress pics are different, because you know ahead of time what to expect.)

NROL's Hypertrophy I, Workout A3
All exercises 4x10, 60 seconds rest except for abdominals which are 3x15, 60 seconds rest
A1 Incline DB Bench Press 35, 40, 40, 40
A2 Ball Seated Cable Rows 40
B1 DB Shoulder Press 35
B2 WG Lat Pulldown 70
C1 DB Close Grip Bench Press 40
C2 High Pull 25, 25, 25, 30
D1 Swiss Ball Crunch (feet on Bosu)
Notes:
Feeling good about this workout, after not being sure about how the left arm would react. It held up much better than the last workout, which I think is due in part to its healing up a bit, and to better choices of weights on my part. I'm still using the right arm to help the left get the weights in position, and that seems to help a bit too. I was quite happy though about the shoulder press - as that was the exercise I had the most trouble with last time.
Looking ahead to B3, that will be the toughest workout in the cycle for me, since it's 3x15 for legs. While for arms weight is pretty adjustable, for legs, the BSS and stepups are still bodyweight dependent, and I do still have a bit of that to move. Interestingly though, I'm not waiting for the end of Hypertrophy I like I was for all the Fat Loss programs. I think this is due in part to being more resilient to the working out (which I attribute to doing Fat Loss I, II, and III).

Spinning
Spinning Thursday night was a good class. Stayed in the saddle for the ride to really challenge myself. Was pleased that I could do it as we were doing steep hills.

Yup still hanging in there - last weekend was a sort of crisis, in that I just had to have something different. But past that I think TNT's going well. In fact I showed it to my spinning instructor and she mentioned considering getting the book. I will say that I'm becoming quite the cheese taster since starting TNT. As for my weight, it seems to fluctuate so wildly that it's hard to tell what's going on. I think I'm losing though since my pants do seem to be looser. Thanks for looking in.

Cheese is the food of the gods. I love the stuff. I'm going Paris next month for work and I'm already thinking about the cheese I'm gonna eat.
Weight fluctuating is normal, as long as the trend is ultimately downwards. Plus, the way your clothes are fitting is really the true sign of success. You are probably steadily putting on muscle as you're taking off fat.
A little French cheese food porn for you on a Friday...

I enjoyed Paris the weekend I was there (was part of a larger trip). I basically just walked around the city, spent some time on the Champs de Mars watching the sun set behind the Eiffel Tower and other Paris-only activities.
And as for cheese, have you ever tried St. Albray?
If nothing else, TNT has really removed a substantial speed bump in my progress - Friday's happy hour is now 2 glasses of wine and a TNT compliant meal. As opposed to quite a few more beers, and who knows how many carbs from appetizers.

weight is just a number... What is really important is how you look and how you feel. I think clothes are a better measuring tool for fa | |
