I think New Glarus is up that way too. They have their own raspberry lambic that blows Lindemans' Framboise out of the water.

Weigh-in Update
221.25 - Getting rid of the weekend's excesses, and hoping for a drop tomorrow to get me around (or just under 220).

The Power of the Snatch
With all respect and homage to Jill, the Queen of all that is Snatch, I had my last Y training session today, and I practiced the snatch. Definitely going to need work with this one, but actually practiced from about an hour. I think I'll be feeling this in my legs tomorrow, possibly my lower back a little and less so my shoulders. I guess I should say "Hey look!, A Workout!" since I've not posted anything weight-wise since Wednesday. Tomorrow I work with the woman who manages the corporate gym to go through my current routine and check me on form etc.

Weigh-in Update
219.75 - Looks like things are stabilizing after this past weekend's fun. I'd be pleased if it was down another pound or so tomorrow, but I'm not expecting it.

Great work this week. I had a hard time doing snatches in Hyp 3. They just always felt wrong. I did mine with dumbbells, did you use a barbell? Seems like that would help with form better.

[hijack]
I've been taken lately with Long hammer IPA - any views about a similar IPA that I should try? (don't know if Long Hammer is considered "good" so no snarky comments please ) - if it helps, I prefer it after it has set for a bit [/hijack]

I'm curious as to how the beer affected you.
As much as I like it, I can't drink much or I get really bloated.

Yup, used a shorter 35lb barbell, then went downstairs to the olympic bar. Mainly practiced with a 10lb plate on each side, and believe me that was enough.

It's good if YOU consider it good. Do you like hoppy beers? Since the style you list is an IPA (India Pale Ale) I'm going to guess yes. Just know that American IPAs (like Long Hammer) tend to be hoppier than the classic (English) IPA. That said, I'm not sure if you can get these in California, but they're worth a try if you can:
Victory's Hop Devil - Brewed right here in Pennsylvania, right outside of Philadelphia, Hop Devil is the brewery's flagship beer.
Bell's Two Hearted - This is a popular offering from the Kalamazoo, Michigan brewery which seems to be widely available.
Stone's IPA - Stone makes big beers. I mean BIG beers as it's a company renowned for its offerings such as Arrogant Bastard, they very often live up to the hype they spout. And they're from California. Insane amounts of hops usually characterize their ale offerings.
Lagunitas IPA - I've not had this particular beer, but I did have their tripel which was awesome. Also a California brewery.
My best advice though would be to look around and see what's available locally - particularly if it's a brewpub or a beer bar. That way you can probably get a sample to try before you buy. Or just let me know what you can get and hopefully I'll recognize some of the names.

Bloating happened for sure - I'm down about 6lbs from Monday, if that tells you anything. And it seems it takes my metabolism time to recover from it as well. Though it does contribute to the carb count, as I do feel charged up the day after when I work out.

Strength Training
All weights in pounds.
A Turkish Getup 2x5@20 (each side)
B One-Arm Swings 2x10@60 (each side)
C Core Push Press + Goblet Squats 3 x10@50
D Assisted Pull-up 1x10@-130, 1x10@-145, 1x10@-160
E1 Front Squat + High Pull 3x12@60 (each side)
E2 Front Squat + Lateral Raise 3x12@15 (each side)
F1 Pushups 3x12@BW (each side)
F2 Row 3x10@60 (each side)
A Turkish Getup - Getting better still, but having problems with the torso raising part that starts the exercise.
B One-Arm Swings - Did ok here - but was fatiguing toward the end of the 2nd set. Perhaps it is due to doing the oly lifting the day before.
C Core Push Press + Goblet Squats - Hit all 50's but only just barely, which means I do them again on Monday.
D Assisted Pull-up - These were the suck this time around - not sure why (oly lifting again?)
E1 Front Squat + High Pull - Pretty well here, but surprisingly the right side felt more difficult than the left.
E2 Front Squat + Lateral Raise - Keeping on the form here - more control too.
F1 Push-ups - Stuck to 12 this time and made it.
F2 Rows - Still challenging in the endgame here.
Overall - Good to get back into a somewhat regular schedule again. (I feel like I should say "Hey look! A workout!" here too.

I think I've had Stone's and I know I've had Flying Dog's IPA - and there was a very good Double IPA from a brewery that started with an M and had a Scottish-ish name - I pretty much look for things to buy in a 6 and try at home rather than in a brew pub -
I'm also spoiled by my cousin - a home brewer (and he now works at a small brewery) who brings a tasting supply to most family gatherings.

I really like Stoudt's Double IPA, though I understand that not everyone has the same affinity for it that I do.
As for the brewpubs, that's about the freshest beer you're going to get. Every one I've ever been in has offered growler fills (a growler being a large stoppered or screw top bottle) that typically hold a half gallon to a gallon of beer.
