Our community is by no means wealthy or even middle class, but I'd never thought of it as dangerous. Overland Park, KS, though, is one of the most wealthy and safe places you can imagine. Maybe that's what makes it even more scary to people -- the simple fact that it can truly happen anywhere, like you said.

There's no way I'd vote for RedWifey going to Wal-Mart at 9pm alone in my area, though.

I remember that story. I just read your blog. WOW, I can't believe you were the only one to call 911!! Thankfully you were there! Sounds like you were very calm.... just what the other kids needed. They obviously were in shock of what had just happened. Did they find the shooter?

No, the shooter and the driver were never found. I'm sure they were in Mexico within 48 hours of the crime. Their car was found abandoned in an apartment complex parking lot about five miles away.

Nice workout! I agreee about the 15 set thing -- that can be a killer by the end. I bet you were happy when you finished. Way to go.

Truth be told, I hate sets of 15 too. I have my favorite rep ranges, but I love to mix things up as well. Lookin good...

It was a killer!!! BUT my legs are still a little weak from Thursday's workout. I knew this was going to happen. I worked really hard that night!!! I just hope I can recover for my next leg day... MONDAY!

*** If I am doing cardio tomorrow (sunday) and my legs are still a little weak today, should I take Monday off and then go back to legs on Tuesday?? Or should I take tomorrow off and do Cardio monday and legs Tuesday???

Okay.... I don't know if I pulled my hamstring or if I am just sore. I had my leg workout Thursday. Friday I woke up w/ my legs feeling a little weak. Saturday they were a little sore. Today I woke up and my left hamstring is very sore.... I don't know if I injured it or if I just worked it too hard.

Any advice?????

I walked on the treadmill tonight on an incline of 7.5 for 25 minutes. My hamstring felt great! I am hoping it is just sore and not pulled.

I went to mcdonald's for dinner and had the grilled chicken caesar salad w/ lite dressing. I really wanted a quarter pounder w/ cheese and french fries, but then I thought about it and decided NO!!!!

I'm hoping to hit legs tomorrow. We'll see how my hamstring holds up!!!

Hey, that's some awesome willpower -- that's the hardest part of going out to eat for me -- resisting temptation when it is so close!

Good on you for resisting temptation! I find when I give in and have whatever it is that I have been craving, it doesn't taste all that great anyway... a deterant for next time!!
Keep up the good work!

Way to go!!! I have had to avoid temptation frequently at work... cookies, cake, pie, you name it. It is a little easier for me because the last time I tried to eat much of that sort of thing, it made me physically ill. It tends to be a good reinforcement against not eating it. It might sound good, but I know that my body will not be happy with me if I try it...

I hit the gym this evening and completed upper body and 23 minutes of cardio.

I had been feeling a little depressed recently... hitting the gym has definitely helped!!!

I completed the same workout from 6/9/07.... except I did 4x10, 60 sec. rest

That really is a great side benefit of working out, isn't it -- it has a way of lifting your spirits. I don't think I've ever left the gym and felt down, it always seems like an uplifting experience -- even though I may be cursing through a brutal exercise while I'm actually doing it.
