I looked craniosacral therapy on-line. It sounds like what our massage therapist refers to as "energy work". Mrs. Egham started with that this past January.
I've been seeing this massage therapist for 4 years and she's the best one I've ever been to. She's also a very kind and compassionate person who works and studies hard to provide the best care that she can. I've learned to pay attention when she gives advice.
She claims that, in energy work, she listens to the body and then does what the body tells her to do. Most of the time, that's the very light touch described in the on-line resources I looked at. Sometimes it includes a bit of deep tissue massage in specific areas.
I've talked to her about energy work a number of times recently while I was in massage sessions to try to better understand just what it is...... It has sort of a "Twilight Zone" feel about it to me. That said, however, Mrs. Egham has been truly amazed at how - at times - things at the bottom of her skull and in her neck have moved and improved despite the absence of all but the lightest of touches.
I can't begin to describe just how strange this approach has seemed to both Mrs. Egham and I, but it does appear to provide some relief for a couple to several days. She's glad she decided to try it and that's good enough for me.

My TRX has arrived!
Unfortunately, we're headed out for a couple of appointments and will stop by a friend's for dinner afterwards, so I won't be able to do anything with it until tomorrow.

I'm interested to hear what you think of the TRX.
It really has to be nice to have a refreshing lake to jump in after your workouts -- you really are lucky that way! Gotta love the beat feeling at the end of a workout.

TRX
After viewing the introductory DVD, I took my new TRX outside, suspended it from a dogwood tree down near the lake, and played with it for a brief time......It's gonna be fun!
The TRX is well constructed and elegantly simple in design. It's definately small and light enough to pack in my luggage when I travel. Heck, as LD has shown, it's sufficiently portable to take on a run to work out in remote, exotic locations.....
I purchased the "Force" model. A military fitness manual was part of the package, along with a door anchor for indoor use; an introductory DVD explaining set-up and use, plus several exercises; a mesh carrying pouch, and printed set-up and use instructions.
The spiral-bound, vinyl-covered military fitness manual appears weather-proof and quite suitable for outdoor use. Its 26 plastic (or plasticized card stock?) pages outline a comprehensive 12-week cardio/strength fitness program and includes illustrations and clear instructions for two dozen exercises.
I'll head back out with the TRX and fitness guide later this afternoon and see what I can manage to do with it.
Lance> Yea, having the lake right here really is great!
Jill & Roland> Any tips for getting started?

Oh, good! You won't regret that decision. I took mine out this afternoon and ran through one of the workouts....Jeeze....They're tough. Some of it may be due to lack of familiarity with the equipment, but it's clear this thing can bust your butt. Yours will eventually get here. Meanwhile, you'll have to put up with the rest of us extolling ours.

My paternal grandfather's birthday. He'd have turned 103. When I was a kid, he was my favorite person in the whole world.....A college chemistry professor who kindled my interest in the sciences and made sure that interest stayed stoked until he passed away in 1969, when I was a high school senior. His enthusiasm for knowledge; insistence on scientific integrity and honesty in all that one does; and love of life remains a huge influence. I miss him still and will remain eternally grateful for all that he was and all he did for me.
Nutrition: Only 1 point. Too many beers before dinner at our friend's.
Exercise: None - Too busy with work in the morning and appointments in the afternoon.
Mrs. Egham got her left hearing aid yesterday and has been doing quite well with it. She will go in for her right one next Friday.

I'm glad you liked yours! Mine is great too ... I agree with the eleganly simple design comment ... and yes, it will kick your butt -- mine is very sore today in places it is never sore!! I thought my arms would be more sore, but they aren't sore at all, which is weird since I did way more upper body stuff with it than lower body. Oh well ... it's all good!
Glad Mrs. Egham's hearing aide is good ... do they stagger the "install" to avoid triggering the vestibular problem?

Ask her if she specifically does craniosacral. It has to do with the moving of the cranial bones to relieve pressure in the brain and spinal canal (using the lightest of light pressures -- many in the medical field think it's bull, but if you've had it done, you are amazed at the changes you feel).

BTW...how do you like the TT BW workouts, so far. Would you say they are as a$$ kickin' as the resistance workouts? I'm not sure I could do those yet. Great job!

I wonder if I'll experience the same. I never did get out with mine yesterday. I hope I can today when this thunderstorm passes.

Thanks! She actually expected to get them both at the same time. Unfortunately, the audiologist didn't order the correct model for her right ear which requires a more powerful device.

Ask her if she specifically does craniosacral.

I will check with her when I see her again in a couple of weeks. Based on what Mrs. Egham has said, she may have on a few occasions.

Thanks, Victoria! Yes, they do indeed kick butt, leaving me just as worn out as the resistance workouts. Heck, I often can't even complete the whole workout as prescribed!
Give one of the BW workouts a try sometime when you just want to do something different. From what I've seen of your Fusion workouts, I think you may be surprised with how well you do.
I started doing the BW workouts last week, not as my next workout program, but as something to do while deciding which of Craig's programs I wanted to do for the next few weeks. I even purchased a TT membership for access to his almost bewildering range of work-out options. I need to get back to making that selection.

Good news on the hearing aids so far!
Sounds like the new equipment is working well, good to hear.
