Post New Meal Plan

I finally got around to reading (and actually ingesting, rather than skimming like before) Tailor Made Nutrition by Berardi. It's exactly what I wanted. Less of a meal plan to follow exactly, more of a process of figuring out what meal plan would be good for you.

I'm starting with something basic. It's not quite up to his 7 rules for nutrition ... more starchy carbs than he would recommend, but my plan is to start here and see where it takes me.



Blue meals are the "perfect" meals that fit Berardi's rules. The purple ones have some starchy carbs. I've tried to front load the day. Blue can be swapped for blue, purple can be swapped for blue, and purple can be swapped for purple, if I don't feel like eating exactly what is on the chart.

I'm going to follow this plan for 3 weeks to prove I can be consistent on a plan. Then I will tweak from there, depending on whether I lost what I think I ought to. I'm not sure if I'll reduce calories or try to get rid of more carbs first.

Post Week 29

Okay, yes a long time coming, this update is. I'll be caught up very shortly now.

I got in four workouts this week (two weeks ago), NROL strength 2B, NROL strength 2C, a regen workout, and NROL strength 2D. Not as many as I planned, but still good workouts. I have a plan now that makes it easier to get the six workouts a week in. I'll probably be posting about that, similarly to the meal plan I did a few days back.

Post Week 30

This was the first week of the new plan, somewhat based on Core Performance Endurance. I like their method of having workouts just be cyclical, Power (intervals), Regen, Strength, Regen, repeat with a rest day per week. So I've adopted that. Eventually I'll cut back on the number of regen days... first I gotta prove I can keep up the volume, then turn up the intensity when I'm sure I can handle it.

I also have a handwritten meal plan compliance page in there. I don't have a tempalate, yet, but I will. That will summarize the week's meal logs, and as long as I keep up with the meal plan for 3 weeks I will likely stop tracking day-to-day food, just compliance with the plan.

I got in regen (basically foam, stretching topped off with some steady state cardio), power (prehab + elasticity + intervals), regen, NROL strength 2A, power, regen. That should be a pretty typical week, with the strenght having more workouts than power the next week, and so on.
