Congrats - personal records are excellent things... And reflective of all the hard work you've done.

Yes, the Pewaukee Tri. It's a lot of fun, and nice since it is down the road just 10 minutes from my house.

Yes -- you get out what you put in. I put my time in on the bike, and it really paid off. I did very little swimming and running the last few months, and those events suffered.

The other thing I should have done -- I was struggling in the water, and I just kept trying harder. I should have stopped for a few seconds and regrouped myself. I think I mentally just told myself this is going to be hard -- once I started to have trouble. And I should have just refocused on what I knew, and concentrated on that, instead of "this is going to be difficult".

The fun part is finishing, and realizing what you have just done. And, the sport of triathlon really is a bunch of fun people to be around.

I can't compete with any thoughts of winning, but I can compete with the goal of doing better than I have before, going further, etc. And that is enough for me.

That's a great way to look at it - competing against yourself is probably the most difficult thing to do.

That IS a great way to look at it! I've always thought it would be an amazing sense of accomplishment just to participate and finish, not so much about winning. Really great job, Lance. We're really proud of you! Have a good rest. What's next?

Well, the next planned activity is actually this coming weekend. I'll be doing a 5K run -- the Miller Park Sausage Run. Includes a t-shirt, brat, and a ticket to a Milwaukee Brewers game. It's fun, because you get to run through the stadium on part of the run. I'll probably be running alongside my daughter (10 yrs old), so it will be a fun run for me. We are also going to the run with another family in our neighborhood, and afterward we're going to tailgate at the park, and then go to the game that afternoon. It should be a fun day (and not nearly as tiring as the triathlon!).

Thanks again to everyone for all the positive energy you've provided, not only during and after this triathlon, but also during this whole challenge. It's just what I've needed to keep my motivation up where it needs to be! You all are the best!

Like the others have said - a great attitude to have.

Good look with the 'suasage run' -.

I've always liked the idea of a tailgate party - i think it would be a great thing to have at soccer games. The main problem is that most of the soccer stadiums in England were built in the late 1800's - Early 1900's so they are generally located in the middle of dense housing estates = no parking lot

Not much to report today. I was planning to get a workout in this morning, but my legs were still sore from the triathlon. They feel pretty good tonight, so I will plan to workout in the morning. I have two workouts left in FL2, and I'm ready to finish it off and start something new. Right now I am leaning towards Strength 1.

Tomorrow I have off from work, as I'm taking my two boys to Great America outside of Chicago. It will be a fun day for us boys. My daughter didn't want to go, so her and her mother will be doing some fun activities during the day themselves. She also has a softball game tomorrow night, so it works out pretty good.

Nice job on the tri Lance!! Great attitude ... have fun on the 5K with your daughter. That's great that your kids are so into that kind of thing at such young ages. I aspire to that with my girls.
