Thanks everyone! The deadlift PR was a really nice Christmas present to myself!
Today I attempted one of the Crossfit workouts (for fun??)...
Barbara
5 rounds for time of:
20 pullups
30 pushups
40 situps
50 squats
Looked tougher than I was willing to tackle tonight (am I a wuss???). So, I decided to cut the reps in half for all the exercises. Still only did 3 rounds instead of the 5 as designed. This was a very tough workout. And humbling.
I'm headed out of town tomorrow to celebrate Christmas with my side of the family. Will be out until the 1st, headed to the Lacrosse area. I need to come up with a few BW exercises I can do while I'm gone. Something short and sweet. And...I'm going to have to watch my food intake -- I know there will be calorie overload easily available.

Lance, I'm sure you can find several references to what a nasty bitch Barbara is in the logs!
Have a good time with your family. We are doing the same for a few days, and I am dreading the constant food temptations. LOL!

Crossfit looks evil, Lance.
Congrats on the Deadlift PR

I know how you feel, buddy. It is very humbling. Always looks easy on paper. But, you did something, that's all that matters. The only way to improve is to do it!

You could always take Barbara with you!

Thanks everyone!
I was out of town for a few days, then with some time off from exercise, and busy days at home and work -- wow, it's been a couple of weeks since I've been here. I have been working out a bit, just doing a mix of things while I was determining what would be next. And, next for me is -- a slightly modified NROL Fat Loss 1. I began last night.

Modified NROL Fat Loss 1-A
Warmup:
Squats 1x10xBW, 1x5x45, 1x5x135
Work Sets:
Superset w/ Full Rest
Squat: 3x15x155
Push Up on Ball w/ Prone Jacknife: 3x15xBW
Superset w/ Full Rest
Bent over Row Back Ext: 3x15x95
DB Romanian DL to Split Snatch: 3x15x20(e.h.)
Superset w/ Full Rest
Lunge: 3x15x20 (e.h.)
Swiss Ball Crunch: 3x15xBW
Exercise:
Dumbell Swings: 1x50x30
Notes: This was a tough workout (cardiovascularly) after having recently done Strength workouts, where breaks are long and sets are short. Some of the weights were difficult as well, and I will probably adjust a couple of them next time. It's great to be working out again, and hopefully these workouts will really burn some of the fat I have accumulated the last couple of months.

Yep, I'm "finally" back at it!!
I have done FL-1 before, so this is my second stint with it. Hoping to see the full benefits of it...I kind of need it after the Thanksgiving to Christmas feasting.

Today I had a little time, so I squeezed in a Crossfit workout:
Cindy:
5 reps pullups
10 reps pushups
15 reps squats
Do as many sets as possible in 20 minutes.
I've done this one once before, so I knew what kind of punishment lie ahead. The thing is this starts off easy enough, but by halfway through it is killing me. I pushed through for the 20 minutes, completing 10 sets. The last sets, the pullups were getting pretty poor in form. But I like this one, it's quick and effective.

Welcome back! Nice workout... and then you just "squeezed" Cindy in there. You're definitely back at it.
