On the way up. I think the weight pushed me down just a bit further than I usually go on squats (and I've been doing twice-daily quad stretches, so the ROM has been improving slightly) and that pulled a tendon or ligament just a wee bit further than it wanted to go.
I've been icing and stretching and the pain has pretty much gone away, much faster than a couple months ago. I hope that's a good sign.
Anyways, I'm sure Danny's plan for the next couple months will address the problems that seem to keep coming up whenever I try to do a book plan.

Well thats good news. Hopefully it was just a little tweak instead of a full on injury.

Bill.
Nice to hear you are making headway with the knee problem. Let's hope for the best. Now where is that deck of cards?

Just curious, do you have big bumps below your knee on your shin? (Like this?)

I don't think I have those bumps. You're thinking about Osgood-Schlatter? My neice had that, and I think my Dad did, too (but it's hard to say since it wasn't really well known when he was a teenager).
Took a pic to check. I don't see any bumps. What do you think?

Hmmm... maybe I should have added a "not for the squeamish" label.

Put Steve through the TT paces today. Great GPP workout.
A1) Deadlift: 3 x 185 x 8
A2) DB Single Arm Standing Press: 3 x 5 x 8
I don't really press these for weight. My challenge is going through the motion and keeping my scapula stable and in proper position.
B1) Forward Lunge: 3 x 15+15 x 6 (each leg)
B2) Reverse Lunge: 3 x 15+15 x 6 (each leg)
C1) Stability Ball Leg Curl: 3 x BW x 12
C2) Single Leg Hip Extension: 3 x BW x 12 (each leg)
Intervals on bike: 6 (30 secs), 60 seconds active rest
I'll be walking funny for a while...

Hee Hee!! Hard to tell through the hair :p ... which knee is it? The right knee looks like it possibly has something ... and yes, I was wondering about Osgood-Schlatter's ... very underdiagnosed and can cause problems later in life. I had a patient once who had it undiagnosed as a teenager, yet it actually bifurcated his patellar tendon!! This caused an inherent weakness and he was very prone to patellar tendonitis ...

Thanks, Julie!
Sorry, the silky-smooth look is too much work -- not that I've ever tried it.
Both knees tend to be a bit crunchy, but the tendonitis has been primarily in the right. The left has some minor meniscus issues but isn't serious enough for a "real" fix. I'm hoping it doesn't get worse.
Do the bumps from Osgood-Schlatter's persist into adulthood, or do they disappear later on? I don't recall anything painful when I was younger. If it went undiagnosed, is there any treatment for it this far down the line?

Sorry about the up-close-and-personal photo sizing. Couldn't get photobucket to change that.
But hey, I watched the camera angles and made sure it was decent before posting!
