I actually had a good workout. It wasn't one I wanted to do but I try my damnedest to stick to my plans. I actually outperformed myself on squats and chest press.

I also had the opportunity to ponder one of the great mysteries of the universe: How can a generally extraordinarily lean and vascular man with veins everywhere, ripped arms with muscles popping out all over the place, quad definition and distinct hamstring separation have a huge gut? A weirdly shaped one at that --- really round and not saggy, more like a high-placed soccer ball ???

Could be. He was ripped everywhere else, impressively so. I seem to have a Spidey sense for non-standard gymgoers; that is, i often detect those who are beyond a casual fitness type. That's how I started talking to my trainer - she looked great and I asked what she did...she was just a couple weeks past her last fitness comp...I can just tell when people are beyond "fit for normal people"...I asked him what his background in athletics was - he looked like a gymnast or a sprinter and it turns out he (said he) was a former national champion wrestler. He was in his 60s now.

Default I need a new camera!!

This camera is crap. But I took a few photos. They are grainy. When this camera was given to me, it was quite the digital breakthrough but these days it is waaay obsolete.

Arm

A shoulder vein - does it count? Or is just that my skin is super pale?

My hamstring:

Quad. It looks better in real life, I swear :p

It's raining here.
I slept a whole night with NO awakenings. It may be due to a drug I took but I'll try again and see if it's a double hitter... (tonight, that is.)

Off to the gym for a full-body circuit and maybe some cardio if time permits.

Nobody here but I will report anyway. I did intervals (HIIT) on the stepmill yesterday and did 12 x 20:40

Had a nice chicken breast for supper. My total cals were pretty low, 1300 or so for the day, but the carbs were higher than I wanted and the fat lower. Protein was in check so does it really matter? Probably not, right?

If the total is low enough, I suppose it's no big deal where it came from. I hope.

I woke up once 1 hour after going to bed and then was out for the night. Super tired today; it must be the grey, rainy weather.

It's good though that you got a full night's sleep for the most part. I was up and down all night Saturday.... every 2.5-3 hours..... drove me bananas.

I am very groggy today and am not sure if the weather or the drug is to blame. I am going to take 1/2 a tablet this time (tonight) and see what happens.

Feeling a bit down today. For some reason I feel inadequate and never lean enough just because I can't seem to get my abs the way I want them to. It is shallow and stupid...whatever. I should be happy that I at least have shoulders

It's good to hear that you are getting some sleep. I hope it continues.

BTW...I think your shoulder veins do indeed count.

Crazy a.m. stair workout, outdoors.
Tonight I might do weights. We'll see. I am trying SO hard to lose about 5 lbs...it's not budging
I feel like I'm failing because I am working out so consistently and with great effort and intensity and also keeping cals quite low. I don't have any idea what to do.

Next week, my workouts are going to change back to an upper-lower split. That will be good to change it up again.

Have you measured anything besides weight? Looking at some of your photos along the way, you do seem be be putting on some muscle. Perhaps you are indeed putting on muscle, enough to mask fat loss. Such body composition changes are GOOD! Sometimes weight isn't the best parameter for gaging progress.

You certainly don't. Repeat that as many times as it takes for it to seem silly to think otherwise.
