Default 61 Days To Buff ~~~Vanessa's Challenge Log~~~

Ok...here goes

Name : Vanessa
Age :41
Personal Stuff : Living in sin with my fiance Steve lol...have one chihuahua Muffin. I love to workout..of course this was not always the case. Back in 2003 i weighed about 220..i was a mess...but i got myself together. First i started out just walking and cutting out all the junk and soda. I'm sure MT. Dew took a big loss...lol..so i got down to 170 and started running. I love running. I log about 30-40 miles a week. After about a year of that i was down to 140..then i started lifting and got to my lowest weight 121. I'm now back up to 133. It's not bad..i'm 5'2 but i would love to get back into the 120's again.

I'm going to workout my plan tonight. See you all tomorrow..

Default My Goals

Nutrition

1 - I will eat clean with one cheat meal a week.
2 - I will keep my calories between 1400-1900
3 - I will drink atleast a gallon of water a day
4 - I will log my meals on Fitday

I usally do eat clean but have a real problem with candy..mostly things like jeely bean,Twizzlers..things like that. My main goal is just to keep the junk out of the house so i will not be tempted.

Fitness

1- I will run 6 days a week
2- I will lift 3 days a week

I love to workout so this will not be a problem for me. If having the "perfect" body just came from working out i'd have it..Nutrition is my biggest problem

Competition

I have already signed up for two races in July. On is on July 14,a 4 miler and the next one is on July 28,a 5k. I love to run in races i've done two half marathon in the past two years But i don't think my knee will let me train for anymore.

Personal

1- To finish this challenge. I have signed up for things like this in the past but i have never finished one.
2-I really love yoga but i never seem to find the "me" time to do it. So i will challenge myself to find time 2 days a week.
3- Be kinder to myself. When i weighed 220 i was always putting myself down. I guess i tried to beat people to the punch. I seem to still do this. I think bcause i still see myself at 220. So i challenge myself to replace to bad self talk with good
4- To get back into the 120's

Measurements

Weight
131.5

Chest-34.5
Bi-10.5
Waist-28.5
Abdomen-31
Hip-36
Thigh-22
Calf-14.5

Welcome to the Forum Vanessa, it is nice to have another runner aboard. You may want to check out the Runners Forum and tell us how your racing is going and join one of our challenges as well.

Welcome Vanessa! And, I sooo get the self talk. It's hard to see yourself as you now are and to forgive yourself for what you once were. Been there and still working on it!

Hi Brenda,
I know...go deal with it everyday. You think it would get easier over time..but it doesn't seem too

OMG! me too. Well, I lean to a bit more chocolaty stuff, but damn those twizzlers are good... I like it when you get the ones with the hole so you can use them like a straw. They're AWESOME with pepsi (diet, of course)

Anyway, good on you for nipping regain in the bud. When you don't, you end up like me, having to buy new clothes and totally mad about it. grr.

Are you following a specific routine for your yoga? or are you just winging it?

There's a great kit out there... "OM Yoga in a Box" and the beginner's box has a nice routine that you can easily mix up because each track is a section... so you could do just a simple salutation for 15 minutes or a full-blown hour. It has cards to help you learn/remember the poses. also comes with like incense and a strap... but the cds are good. One is the chick talking you through the routine, the other is some really nice music.

Ha. It's the only way I actually ever get in an hour at home... and even then I rarely do it. But it's helpful having someone else tell you what to do. Gives you something else to concentrate on besides all the other crap floating around in your brain.

Hi Vanessa! I am a little late also but great goals! I used to run regularly but have let it drop off maybe you can inspire me to pick it back up again! Now, if I can just get past the 'starting' again....
