Thanks, Julie!
Hey Newman...
Well, I attempted some SS cardio on the spinner this afternoon. 15 minutes and I just lost heart. Oh well...I got a lot of things done today-washed and vacuumed my car, did lots of laundry, went shopping for more protein powder, Greens +, etc. and changed my sheets. That's enough for one day.
I'm still trying to figure out a good progression for pull-ups. My TT Level 2 program has chin-ups in it, so this will be a great time to try to conquer them!
Tomorrow, no workouts. I'm going to a surprise 80th birthday party on a lake, then from there off to the Stevie Nicks concert at Mohegan Sun. I can't wait!!!

Hey, Victoria! Thanks for stopping by my Log--it looks like you're doing fantastic!! It's funny that you went to an 80th birthday party today--I went to my grandmother's 80th birthday party yesterday I hope you had a great time at Mohegan Sun; my parents took me there for my 21st birthday a year and a half ago and it was a good time. It's a beautiful building, anyway Keep up the awesome work!

Don't surprise the 80 year old too much that could be bad news

I got the Iron Woody assisted pullup pack back during FL-III. Just this last week, I was able to do TWO-count-'em-TWO unassisted pullups. Gonna shoot for THREE on my next low-rep day. You might also want to look at Mistress Krista's "Mistressing the Pullup" page if you haven't already.

geez...I can't type...my cat won't let me stop scratching her....
Lance/Azure/Jen...the day turned out pretty well. The 80th wasn't actually a surprise after all. She fished too much and found out. Oh well...the concert was great except you know you're getting old when 1) you pray that no one sits in any of the seats adjacent to you 2) the two drunk guys behind you are not cool anymore 3) you have to wear ear plugs 4) you leave before the show even ends! Otherwise it was great!
cd...I'll have to check out the Iron Woody, thanks for the tip. I have been reading Mistressing the Pull-up, seems like a logical progression. Great job on the pull-ups, wooohoooo!
Today's Workout:
TT DB-BW FUSION FAT LOSS PROGRAM
Level 1, Workout B-6
3 July 2007
Warm-up: 5 min. on tready...Walking lunges, Toy soldiers, Side lunge reach, Knee push-ups, Prisoner squats
Unilateral Stuff: L, R, L
Specific Warm-Ups: 2 sets (8 reps each) of each exercise @ 50%, 75% set weight for all exercises using 50# or more.
Superset (no rest btw exs., 1 min. btw sets):
DB Split Squat (3x8): 8 @ 30# dbs, 8 @ 30#, 8 @ 30# (+5#)
Y's & T's (3x12): 12 @ 3# dbs, 12 @ 3#, 12 @ 3#
Kept the Ys & Ts at the same weight.
Superset (no rest btw exs., 1 min. btw sets):
DB Chest Press (3x8): 8 @ 30# dbs, 8 @ 30#, 8 @ 30# (+2.5#)
Inverted Row, Beginner (3x10): 7,3 @ BW, 8,2 @ BW, 10 @ BW
I'm still trying to get coordinated with using my thighs for momentum in lying back and getting up from the chest presses. I'm really beginning to dislike those inverted rows!
Superset (no rest btw exs., 1 min. btw sets):
DB Close-Grip 1-Arm Standing Shoulder Press (3x8): 8 @ 25# dbs, 6,2 @ 25#, 6,2 @ 25# (+2.5#)
1-Leg Deadlift (3x12): 12 @ 8# dbs, 12 @ 8#, 12 @ 8# (+3#)
Shoulder presses are tuff after the previous set!
Notes: That was the last workout for Level 1. Level 2 next! Looking ahead I have plenty of push-ups again, chin-ups where I'll try to accomplish one unassisted, might be tuff though in 4 weeks, dips which I'll substitute with push-ups on the ball, and the ever lovable BSSs!!!

Those workouts look really fun. I'm going to have to check out TT some day when Chad and I are "on a break."

Jill, I would highly recommend them. There are some pretty brutal workouts in his library. You would devour them!

Today's Workout:
TT DB/BW Fusion Fat Loss
L1 BW Interval Circuit B
4 July 2007
Warm-up: 5 min. on tready
No rest btw exercises, 1 minute rest btw circuits:
Prisoner Squat: 12 reps
Step-ups: 10 reps per side @ ~ 10" (2 stacks plus top)
Push-ups: Max reps -1 (C1=20 reps, C2=20, C3=15)
Reverse lunges: 8 reps per side
Squat thrusts: 10 reps
Cool down: 5 min. on tready
3 circuits completed.
Heart Rate:
C1: end of circuit=152, after 1 min. rest=149
C2: end of circuit=155, after 1 min. rest=148
C3: end of circuit=156, after 1 min. rest=142
After cool down=114
Notes: I borrowed one of Julie's HRMs and tried it during this workout. Not sure how to interpret these numbers yet as I have no other point of reference. I would have thought the numbers would have been higher after each circuit considering I was definitely breathing heavy, sweating, and feeling the muscle burn. I'll probably end up buying one. So, it will take me a while to figure out where I need to be, I guess.
Start Level 2 tomorrow...yahoo!!!

Two levels, each lasting four weeks. Short and sweet, then onto something else.
I found the chin-up progression I want to follow. I'll start tomorrow with Workout A of Level 2 which has chin-ups in it. I like this progression because it not only maps out the progression of exercises, but also when to switch to the next one. I've been doing the inverted rows in Level 1 and can barely push out ten. So, I'll start here again tomorrow. I'll probably be able to progress to the full inverted rows almost right away...
Anyway, it will be interesting to see how long it takes me to do my first chin...if I ever get there!

I'm planning to move to TT workouts next. I'm not sure which one yet, I need to take a look at what Craig has posted on his site once I purchase a membership sometime within the next couple of days. At this point, I'm intrigued with your fusion workout. It's something that I could do at home when I just don't feel like fighting traffic driving to the gym.
