Women's Challenge - NROL4W - Week 2
So, Sunday's workout with Cass and Julie was really awesome! I was the grasshopper, for sure! After going through a bunch of mobility drills, (I think I have it now, Julie!), we got into some deadlifts. I have never done them with very much weight, never mind with the big oly bar. So, it was a blast to try it. I did some with the bar only first, then they added 10# plates and I did a few more off of risers. It felt great. I had no problems with my back at all. I was very psyched! Julie and Cass then kicked it up a bit and threw some plates on the bar and went at it. They are two very strong women!
We played around with some front squats, too. I have bruises on my shoulders where the bar sat. Hmpf... But, that felt good on my back, too. Then, we tried the front squat push presses. I'm so used to my dumbbells, it was interesting to feel how different these exercises are using the big bar. I rather liked it!
Finally, we played around with the swiss ball jacknifes and other fun stuff, then tried some pullups. Cass cranked them out...Julie and I needed a little help.
We also talked...a lot! How could we help ourselves? We had such a knowledgeable brain to pick! Add in the sushi dinner with Julie afterward, and it was a truly fantastic day for me. I cannot wait to do it again!

Women's Challenge- NROL4W - Week 2
Today's workout:
NROL4W
Stage 1
Workout A2
Warm-up: 5 mins. on tready plus a bunch of mobility and activation stuff.
Strength Workout:
Straight Set w/ 60 sec. rest
A) Squat (2x15x20# dbs)
Superset w/ 60 sec. rest
2A) Push-up (2x15xBW) Did all "regular"
2B) Seated Row (2x15x60#) +5#
Superset w/ 60 sec. rest
3A) Step-Up (2x15x BW) +6" on height
3B) Prone Jackknife (2x8xBW)
Notes:
I had the correct weight written down on my log for the squats but still picked up the wrong ones, so no changes on the weights! I was able to do all the pushups as regular today. I was surprised...and happy! I brought the step up to the 18" height that's been talked about in one of the threads, and it was quite challenging. I did them BW only and it got tuff toward the end of each set. Prone jackknifes feel great! I like them! No more 15 reps for this workout!
Energy Level: 1 (bonk) 2 3 4 5 (bionic) = 5

After Sunday? Not really. It was more about form then cranking out a workout. But, it got my blood pumping more than once!

You are rocking the pushups, Tracy!
Glad to see you moving up the step height. It really does make quite a difference, doesn't it! Everyone should try the higher step to see what they are missing, huh!
Glad you had so much fun on Sunday. I would have loved to have been there!

Congrats on the pushups and the step height! I meant to build a new, higher step this weekend but hubby kept taking the circular saw with him. Argh.

Great day! Sounds awesome. I can feel your enthusiasm for this workout through my computer screen.
Barbells are different, and take some getting used to. But they are just another tool in the arsenal. Will you work out with Cassandra again?

Thanks a lot everyone! I haven't done pushups in a while so I was very happy to still have it in me a little!
