That's a great question, Jill. I'm glad you asked it. You've provoked some thought.
As a result, I went back to my very first post with this log back in May and reread my goals at that time. I guess technically this log has only existed for about 8 months, so I have a few more to go before completing my "magical" year. (I don't know, I guess it's more a magical "lifetime" of lifting). But, I think for the most part, my goals stand just as true now as when I first documented them on Post #1. I'll be putting some more thought into my goals for this new year when I post my initial NROL4W challenge stuff (I was going to do that today but realized it probably wouldn't be such a good idea...posting my pics just might put me over the edge ), but, I do know that consistency will remain an important one in the mix.

Hi. Sorry you're feeling sluggish, but Happy New Year!
Take a drive to a bookstore that's open, get a book or maybe a magazine that you'd never buy, a cup of coffee, and sit there for a while.

I feel like this a lot in the winter time. I get sluggish and fuzzy and feel like crap. The thing that helps me the most is a walk outside. Fresh air and sunlight (even if there is no sun) does the trick every time. Is there somewhere you can go and take a walk through the woods for a bit? Strap on your ipod and go!
Hope you feel better.

Official Women's Challenge Post
I'm officially in as follows:
Stats:
Age: 45
Height: 5'6"
Weight: 160 lbs.
BF%: somewhere around 30%
Upper Chest: 39.5"
Right Upper Arm: 11.5"
Hips: 41"
Waist: 36"
Right Upper Thigh: 25"
Right Calf: 14.5"
Photos:
Nutrition:
I really appreciate the simplicity with which this topic was presented in NROL4W, so that will be my approach. I will keep this entire process as stupidly simple as I can. Therefore, my caloric requirements work out like this:
RMR: 1317
BMI: 26
Calories:
Non-workout days (1.2): 1580 cals
Workout days (1.4): 1845 cals
I'll start at mainenance as suggested in the book for the first 4 weeks. Then, I'll adjust from there as necessary. I'll start with shooting for balanced macros, PN-TNT-ish. But, that may change. I just had a bunch of blood work done as a baseline for the next 6 months, and upon first glance with my uneducated eye, it appears that my cholesterol and something about my thyroid is a bit high, which surprised me. So, after an upcoming consult with the Doc, my diet may change slightly.
Weight Training Program:
I will be following NROL4W (all stages) as outlined, 3 days per week.
Conditioning:
I don't care much for straight HIIT intervals, so I'll be replacing the "cardio" stuff in NROL4W with other general conditioning workouts 2 or 3 days a week. It will probably be a mix of Ross-style stuff, BW routines, and whatever else I feel like. Anything but dreaded intervals on the tready!
Core Work:
Even though core work is well covered in the book, I'll be adding 2-3 routines per week on my conditioning days. It's my opinion you can never get too much core work and I especially need it.
Tracking:
I'll probably track my progress as outlined in the book: Weight, though I really hate that!, Clothes, Visual differences, etc., but I'll work that out later.
I think that covers enough for now. Anything I missed will be covered here later.
Oh, and one last thing, after a long stint under cover, I've finally been released from the federal witness protection program, so from here on out, please refer to me by my real name, 'Tracy'.

Women's Challenge - NROL4W
NROL4W
Stage 1
Workout A1
Warm-up: 5 mins. on tready plus a bunch of mobility and activation stuff.
Strength Workout:
Straight Set w/ 60 sec. rest
A) Squat (2x15x20# dbs)
Superset w/ 60 sec. rest
2A) Push-up (30-degree) (2x15xBW)
2B) Seated Row (2x15x50#)
Superset w/ 60 sec. rest
3A) Step-Up (2x15x20# dbs)
3B) Prone Jackknife (2x8xBW)
Notes:
Good first workout. But, as with all, it will take a few to dial in the weights. I hate to be back at the 15 rep scheme, I just got away from that in my last program. But, the rests are a bit longer again, which is a welcome change.
Energy Level: 1 (bonk) 2 3 4 5 (bionic) = 5

Good start Tracy (jeez it's hard to use your real name now lol). I hate 15 rep sets too, especially with BSS.

Good Morning, Tracy...just saying HI to all the NROL4W challengers that I can find. It looks like our stats are pretty darn close, so it will be neat to see the progression of weights and such.
Have a great day!

Yeah, sorry about the name thing. But, I've really grown to trust this forum and everyone on it and with this challenge, I just thought it was a good time to truly be me!
Hi Annette, thanks for stopping by. I noticed our similar stats, too. We'll surely be cheering each other on. I haven't had a single moment yet to stop by everyone's logs in the challenge. But, that is on the top of my list.
