Maria, that's funny that you think your cals are too low. I'm a bit of a chronic under-eater in general so I guess I didn't have too much of a calorie reduction to worry about when I started PN.

I admit, I'm certainly not always 90% compliant each and every week, but probably more like 80% - 90%. When I'm not compliant, it's usually missing a meal from lack of planning, never eating junk. I just don't like crappy food. I basically just started following the 10 Habits, and have not had to "individualize" yet since I've been steadly losing. But, for me, what really got my weight dropping was the addition of the sadistic workouts compliments of one Alwyn Cosgrove.

But, I think I'm going to track my food on Fitday throughout the challenge, just in case my weight loss stalls a bit. I don't like to get too crazy with this stuff, though. So, we'll see. As long as it's working, why futz with it.

Let me know how you do. I'll be interested in following your log. We can probably help each other with this stuff!

You don't like junk?! As Napoleon Dynamite would say: LUCKY! I am a chronic junkfood junkie. It's really a problem. It's worse because I don't even necessarily enjoy it, I just don't seem willing to stop my hand-to-mouth disease, ugh. Anyway, I will come here for inspiration!!!

Aoife...thanks!

NEWMAN!!!...Ahoy to you, mate!

Jules: I'm gettin' to it! I tried to find an on-line reg, but there doesn't appear to be one. So, I'll print the form and mail it in.

Marie: One of the interns at work keeps talking to me like Napoleon Dynamite, which I've never seen...GOSH! DOODTH! etc., etc. It's actually pretty funny the way she does it. Now she's got me talking like that. I really should add the movie to my que. Anyway, about the junk, even as a kid, I never really liked much in the way of junk food. I NEVER drank soda, rarely had candy, the Good Humor truck was the exception, and even that always tasted too sweet to me. Looking back now, I would say I ate as clean as I do now following PN. Can you imagine that with today's kids? So, I guess in a way, this is really nothing new for me. Fresh strawberries are my candy bar.

And, did I ever say welcome back? It's good to see you around again.
D'oh...Brenda, that's the second time I've missed your post because it was on the previous page. Thanks for stopping by. I finally cut myself some slack from all the studying (not that I've deserted it) just giving my self a little normality again. So, it's really good to be posting again. Plus, there was no way I could pass up this challenge!

TT DB-BW FUSION FAT LOSS PROGRAM
Level 1, BW Interval Circuit A
2 June 2007

Circuit: No rest btw exercises, 1 min. rest btw circuits
Y-Squat - 12 reps
Diagonal Lunge - 6 reps per side
Offset (kneeling) pushups - 6 reps per side
Spiderman Climb - 8 reps per side
Jumping Jacks - 60 jumps

2 circuits completed

Notes: Well, another deceptively easy looking workout on paper! The circuits weren't too fluid the first time around only because I had to get used to doing these exercises. They reminded me of watching my grandfather when I was a kid doing his daily exercises out on the patio, kalestenics I think were called back then. The jumping jacks got me pretty good with some good ol' leg burn and heavy breathing. I liked it, a nice change from HIITs on the tready! I only did 2 circuits, but clearly I'll be working on getting that up to 3 before I switch to the next level. And, I'll be working toward full push-ups, too!

Nutrition: Yesterday's eats were 100% compliant! I just didn't drink quite enough water.

What is precision nutrition v2? Is it wildly different from the first version? I know he was big on protein/fat combos and protein/carb but not all 3?

Oh, magical lifting? You must use some sort of esp to make the weights go up and down

Default PN V.1 vs PN V.2

Ok, since I’ve been asked 3 times now about the differences between PN V.1 and PN V.2, here goes my side-by-side comparison.

The upgrade comes shrink-wrapped with a piece of corrugated cardboard to keep it flat during shipment. That’s all. It does not come with a new white binder. You must remove the old and insert the new. The first change is the addition of an “Introduction”. Seems self explanatory, but it looks geared toward someone completely new to the concept of clean eating. It is motivational as well as introductory and includes 10 PN “tips for success” (motivation, expectations, starting out slow, etc.).

The Diet Guide is pretty much the same. The Quick Start Guide also looks unchanged; even all the recipes are the same. Might have been nice to get a few new ones. 5 Minute Meals is a repeat of V.1, so nothing new there either.

Now, in the Super Shake section, there are 8 new shake recipes. After looking at them more closely, I think they are the recipes that were voted “best super shake” on the PN forum a while back including the “Banana Cream Shake” by our own Galya. Hmmm…Turtle Shake sounds devine too…chocolate, pecans, peanut butter, yum!

The biggest change has taken place in the “Individualization” section. This now covers calorie estimation, body type and macronutrient estimating, 3 nutrition levels (Level 1: Basic, Level 2: Individualized, Level 3: Special Situation including low cal, low carb, high carb, cal & carb cycling, re-feeds, and pre-, during-, and post-workout nutrition, and competition days), special nutritional concerns (PN for kids, vegetarianism, pregnancy, menopause/andropause, diabetes, fibromyalgia, cardiovascular concerns, food intolerances/allergies, and a couple others), supplements, and finally stuff on keeping food logs.

The Body Comp Guide is now called The Measurement Guide. This covers the same basic information about taking various body measurements like weighing oneself on a scale, BF measurements with the pinchy thing, and girth measurements, plus all the formulas and worksheets. But, the new version also covers ways to measure recovery (subjective and objective) and strength and performance (maximal strength tests, power tests, strength endurance, and endurance capacity), a list of blood tests for monitoring health, and lastly, a how-to on taking progress photos. The appendices seem the same with all the measurement recording charts and formulas.

This upgrade does not include new CDs or DVDs. So, I assume they have not changed. And, supposedly the entire package got a complete “face-lift” but, honestly, it still looks pretty much the same to me.

So, there you have it. Form your own opinion as to whether it is worth it or not. If I recall, it’s around $40 “while they last”.

You GO, girl! That is great progress!

Good job on the workout. And, great to hear you were 100% on your nutrition goals -- for me that can be the toughest part! Keep it up!

Nice comparison V .... I too have V2 and I would concur with your assessment. For me, the best improvement was to the individualization guide.

Thanks, Tina. Half way there...didn't think I'd be saying that!

Lance, thanks for stopping by. So far so good, with the eats!

Julie, I haven't needed to Individualize yet as I've been steadily losing, but I'm sure I will at some point.

So, today was my day of rest. I'm actually a bit sore from my first two TT workouts, so I'm VERY happy about that! Means I got to it! My eats were on today, too. The only thing I haven't done is any type of body measurements, other than my actual weight. I'm just not big with that stuff. I know my body is changing because of how my clothes fit and the actual weight loss, plus I have muscles where I never did before, and they are rock hard! So, I guess I figure if it's all working, which as far as I'm concerned it is, then I don't need to worry about that stuff yet. Is this thinking unreasonable? Should I still be tracking these things? I'm just not about putting hard numbers on things like being at a particular BF% or a particular weight. I just want to get back to where I was before I gained my weight--size 32 Levis! I really miss those old jeans, faded and worn to perfection...*sigh* And, I'll certainly know when I can fit into them. That's what's in my sights. Not numbers.

Anyway, I LOVE this challenge!
