I've been in a pissy mood all day and everything and everyone is getting on my last nerve - so I've been listening to some old tunes on youtube to get in a better mood -
I've been in a pissy mood all day and everything and everyone is getting on my last nerve
Welcome to my life.
Great selection and none I've listened to recently so thanks for those! Btw, I got in big, big trouble for listening to Queen in school during a break one day. Rock was evil, ya know.
I've got Fat Bottomed Girls playing in the background now.
Just letting you know that you caused me to go on a Deep Purple binge yesterday. Then I had dreams of Ian all night, including have the baby and naming it Ian.
Yesterday, I'm watching TV in the evening and my cable box/DVR went on the fritz. After 20 minutes it would just go into a cycle of resetting itself but never finishing, just looping. Unplugging & plugging would reset it, but then it would only work about 20 mins before looping again. So a call to COX resulted in a "between 8 & 10" appointment for today.
This morning got up, booted up the desktop and it wouldn't boot - in fact, it seemed to be in a booting loop - I managed to catch 2 blue screen errors - 1 looked like memory and the other might have been graphics but I can't quite catch it.
So Cable guy arrives & it is the box not the cable (which was a suspect because of the rain we've been having) - so he replaces the box - and I lose all my DVR programming & a week's worth of shows that I had recorded to watch "on the weekend".
And I can't look for desktop/laptop deals on the 'net because -- well, the computer is dead.
Finally I get some coffee in me and realize I can use the work laptop. D'oh.
I admit that's why I never went with a DVR - I hear nothing but complaints about them from our local cable company. I tend to record what I want through an 'in' on my video card, or ... ummm... download a copy when I forget.
I like most features of the cable/DVR that we have: pausing TV, swapping buffers, fastforward through commercials after I've paused the feed, etc. Unfortunately our cable box/DVRs are "crippled" so we cannot off-load to external hard drive - but we are hoping that our complaints about this are heard and someday we get uncrippled boxes (or find a way to enable them from some kind person on the interwebs) - other than that, I'm pretty happy with the DVR features, scheduling recordings and so forth.
I just have had a rash of making the same changes over and over in the last month - I'm sure it will all be fine soon.

in other news - continuing with stretching, foam rolling and occasional workouts (more than actually get written here). Food went off the rails the last couple of days but nothing horrible, back on track today.
not yet - just subsisting on making connection from the work laptop or office desktop to check mail & pay bills - and glance around on here a little when I have a chance. It's odd how it would be just about as convenient to power up the laptop here at home as the old desktop but for some reason I just don't do it. If it isn't raining too hard tomorrow I may get out to test drive some laptops
I have to admit that I really prefer a desktop machine. I think it's more to do with the keyboard. I know I should love the little laptop, but I'd pick my desktop over it pretty much any day.
I use a KVM switch on the laptop and the home machine so everything is my usual monitor keyboard & mouse regardless of the machine doing the running - and it is just twice on scroll lock to swap between sources.
I used to have a KVM switch (back when I had two towers at the same spot). I should look it out and see about hooking it up, although I think the fancy wireless keyboard and mouse probably don't interface with the old switch. Besides, today I'm using the laptop over by the couch - with the heating pad on my back. So the trade-off was worth it.
no new home computer yet - just not in the mood to decide what to get - go figure.
Been working out with the TRX though instead of the weights - as a quick workout with little setup involved I'm liking it - I just hung it on the squat rack -
I can't wait for warmer weather so I can set up my TRX outside under the deck ... there's not really enough room in my workout room for it without running into the boiler or something else ...

I still have to substitute for some of the movements (e.g. core related) but other than that I like it quite a bit.
I have no doors that are suitable for the the door-thingy so on the squat rack is my best indoor choice.
well the good news is that I have confirmed that my current eating and exercise scheme is exactly maintenance for me at this weight. (read: no wt change in 3 wks)

I did maintenance for the entire year in 2008 LOL... hang in there Lisa!
"As far as (healthy) eating, either do it, or don't. Same issues repeated over and over is just insanity. We either commit to the endeavor or pay lip-service to it. This is the hardest part of the whole process, and it needs to be practiced more than the actual physical training. It's mind training." ~ Matt Thorne
