Elliptical: 15 mins AvHR 131
Walk: 23:31 AvHR 133
Interesting. Much higher RPE tonight at lower bpm. Different dinner (last night more carbs, relatively speaking). Ran errands after dinner (shopping at REI). I started 1 hour later in the evening (21:17 vs 22:22). On elliptical I watched TV rather than listening to music on headphones.

Elliptical: 15 mins
Walk: ~20 mins (something went awry with the Garmin and lap counting/timing)
Used music again on the elliptical and it worked much better. Ran during the walk. Ran and then walked until HR recovered to <120 and then ran again. I should find my gymboss so I can time the running more consistantly than "I'm dying" or "just to that lightpost".
I'm trying the forefoot strike. Seems to feel OK - we'll see what is sore tomorrow.
I find music tends to work better than tv for me. It's easier to get lost in the music, not notice the annoyance/pain/time passing that way. But, sometimes the games are even better. There's like no way of knowing how long it's been till I look at the clock on the elliptical, and by that time, 20 miraculous minutes have passed. Although, I'm not doing hard work, just easy steady state, so there's that. Hard work and intervals are best with music.
Felt a little tweaked this morning (all remainder of day) - low back, achilles, ankle, calves felt tight - so I decided to do something different today. Last night I worked until 02:30 (from home) and started up again at 06:00 (from home) and also worked tonight from home --- so here's what I did for workout: nothing.
except this:
SMR / foam rolling (ow, ow, ow - I am so tight)
normal walk with dogs - usual route but at dog-walk pace
stretching and mobility
That's one of the best "excuses" for no workout that I've ever seen. Actually, I'd have skipped the stuff you did do--so good job being good to yourself.
you're prolly not missing anything, akshully. seriously, it was ok when I was younger, it was good. I don't know if it's the time or place I'm at now, but ick.
I can't eat Taco Bell now, but when I was pg with my now-17-year-old, the ONLY thing I craved (and could even try to keep down) for the first 4 months was their taco salad (deep fried shell and all). How strange and sad.

light workout with weights:
a. Plate Squats 3x8
b. Single-leg glute bridges 3x8
c1. Bench Press
c2. 2 pt DB Row
Planks 3x30s
Brisk walk with dogs to cemetery & back - 28 mins - didn't get a satellite until at the cemetery gates so distance isn't really accurate. AvHR 121 - some long waits to see if the satellites would locate and/or convince the dogs not to chase the bunnies brought the avg down - when I would check it was 137-141.
Garmin Forerunner 305 (and the usual alien tracking devices)
BTW - I hate the foam roller, it makes me want to cry. I can't even put my full weight on ITB

And, yeah, TB is nasty. But I still crave it. And when I give in to it, once in a blue moon, I always regret it once I taste it.
I totally agree--when I was a teen, anytime we happened upon a TB, I HAD to stop there. Now, on vacation or something, once in a while we stop and YUK. Not to mention mucho calories.
Hey, on the foam rolling front, I have one of the white foam ones with a blue cover (Hugger Mugger from amazon). I think I remember reading that this is basically a "beginner" foam roller, and there are others that are harder and more effective? I no longer cry when I foam roll so I figure that's a sign for a new one. Anyone know?
