So I checked into private lessons at the kickboxing gym. They cost the same as what I charge for private piano lessons so I think it's reasonable. Now step #2 is to pick an instructor I'd like to work with and find out if they have time to work me in.

Also my membership doesn't currently cover the striking classes so the manager said I could go pop into a couple of those and test them out and then decide if I want to updgrade or not... I feel very apprehensive about those classes -- I know I should just take the plunge and try it out... The main thing is that there are not a lot of ladies in those classes and I'd feel sorry for the poor schmuck who gets stuck with me as their partner. But again everyone has to start somewhere, right?

A great opportunity....Based on what I've seen here, you may well prove more than your assigned partner can handle. Do it and see how it goes.

Someday ... ... I am hoping that one of my daughters wants to get into some type of martial art, then we can do it together. Someday ...

See, I say why bother to wait for a kid to do it -- grab life by the horns and do it now

Oh! Way cool, Jen!! Those private leson would be excellent, and I am with the others - just go for it when it comes to the striking classes!!

Great job on your workout. I love your new avi, too!

2 all nat. chicken sausages with fontina/spinach (I get em' at Costco)
a heap of broccoli slaw
crimini mushrooms
olive oil
about 2 cups of spinach

Sautee it and top with shredded parm...

It seemed like a lot but I was starving a couple hours later...

Ok here's a question for all you smart people:

I've been craving salt like crazy lately. Both after my weight workouts and esp. after kickboxing. I drink 4-6 liters of water a day plus coffee....What's up?

That's an awful lot of water ... too much? If you are craving salt, eat it ... you could be depleted from all the working out and all the water ...

I've learned to trust my body. If I crave something, I probably need it. I'm no expert, but perhaps you need more salt due to all your exercise and your fluid intake.
