we played 2 flag football games this morning. I thought this was gonna be a leaugue with a bunch of old-times, since its a JCC league. But I was wrong. Seems like a competitive league with a bunch of young guys.

the first team we played was big. Lots of big, thick guys. The QB played college ball, and they had a few ex-high school running backs. The QB just bought time bombed it deep with his cannon arm. We lost like 46-25 or something.

Second team was a lot smaller. Only 1 guy who was big. However, they didn't fuck around. You could see they had played together for a while; they had a whole playbook. They were also very, very quick. Lots of plays where they dodged flag pulls and took it 60 yards. we lost like 46-10

I played OK. Played a lot of defensive rusher, and put some good pressure on the q. On offense, played center and blocked. In this league though, you can't extend your hands when you block. So that took some getting used to. But in general, I blocked decently. Better than anyone else on our team could. Also had an interception and some completions.

I planned to lift this afternoon, but I'm not sure that's happening. Hips are very sore, as is core. We'll see. Maybe some gpp.

Squats
1x10x45
1x5x135
1x3x135
1x1x225
1x1x235
1x1x245
1x1x255
3x1x260
1x2x245

Cable Seated Rows
4x6x135

Kept the volume low, as I was tired from football. Going to focus on my squat for a bit. Didn't do chest, as my shoulder felt funny.

Wow. That sounds like a really competetive flag football league. Playbooks and everything! Most rec leagues that I've seen aren't that organized.

Take care of the shoulder.

And I'm sure the college apps will work out fine. Don't sweat it.

yeah, this league looks pretty intense. Luckily, we played the two best teams today. I watched the next game, and those teams looked beatable.

Yup, Gtowns on the list of letters I'm waiting to get. Waiting on Notre Dame, 'Nova, and BC too. Gotta finish up the Penn application if I want to apply for regular decision. At this point, I'm not so sure. I have no desire to go there at all. I was going to do it just to apply to an Ivy, but I'm thinking its a waste of the application fee $$$. On the topic of application, EA or RD, I don't care. I've done all I can do. I'm in very good shape with the grades, GPA, SATs, and especially extracurriculars, now all I can do is wait.

That's ironic; penn is one of my top 3 or so choices. I'm just struglling with the why penn? essay. Why Penn? because it's penn. Because lots of orthodox jews go there. I'm dreading that essay and all the bs im gonna have to write for it.

exactly. I've worked hard through high school, done well on tests, been involved the activities that resonated with me. The die is cast. I'm just focusing on getting good grades this tri and enjoying my senior year.

I don't want to go to Wharton. It's the tops in the country, yea, but to be honest I don't want to put up with all that crazy competition. I like the smaller schools, too. It's one of those deals where you walk on campus, talk to professors, the dean, students, etc. and you just get a feeling about the school. Especially in business, its all about networking. In my opinion, the difference between a network from a "New Ivy" and from an "Ivy" isn't that big.

I hear you on the competition. I was speaking with a friend who goes to another highly comnpetitive business school(NYU stern), and he assured me that the competition was nuts. I also don't want to go thorugh college clawing over other people to get the A.

Yea Stern is right by me. I've found two places (Nova and Notre Dame) that I would absolutely love to go to. I'm confident at least one of the two will work out. Cornell your top choice? I'm guessing because of ED. I thought you couldn't do an early program at another school if you did ED at one.

Well, I thought that too. I ended up asking the cornell admissions office, and they pretty much said "just be aware that if you're accepted, you're coming here next fall". Chicago is non-binding, so it doesn't really make a difference anways. i woulda applied there anyway.

GPP

5 rounds, as fast as possible

15 jumping jacks
10 burpees
10 squats
10 push ups

8:27--previous time was 9:04

5 sets of jump rope.

-made a nice improvement in time, although this was damn hard. This kind of training should help my flag football game.
-In other news, came home today to see that one my youtube videos was posted on a blog. Don't know if that means the video is good or bad.
