You have to have an AL allegiance and an NL allegiance...right?

Today's workout:
Got up late this a.m. so I changed the workout around a little to save time - still gave top effort and intesity as you will see...
RDL (2x6x195lbs) / DB Shoulder Press (2x8x40lbs)
==>Never have done RDL's at this high of weight - hard but good. Sh Presses were one hand at a time sitting on a ball - ceiling is too low to do standing.
Rev Lunge (2x6x40lbs) / Bulg Split Squat (2x8xbw)
==>Added 5lbs to lunges. No weight on the BSS but I did them prisoner style - need to either get some more db handles or us BB.
Ball Curl (3x12xbw) / Russian Twists on Ball (3x8x25lb plate)
==>Was better on time, so I did all three sets of these. Don't feel good about the twists on the ball. Tend to rotate my hips as well as my shoulders...no good.
Need to really work on my core strength, especially after listening to Bill Hartman on MaxOut Radio. Pretty sure I can't pass the plank, side bridge tests. Going to focus on that for the remainer of the summer. Should help my golf swing as well. May need to do some further investigation into that - looking into Bill's articles...I'm sure I've seen them somewhere regarding that testing and how to get to pass it. Anyone knows where, I'd appreciate the link.

Well I got the job offer I was looking for this a.m. (Although I'm not suppose to tell anyone, so don't tell anyone I told you!) Now, I'm excited. I guess maybe I was waiting on a formal offer. Official start date will be July 16th so there's going to be a 30-day transition period. Salary increase wasn't as high as I would like, but I also just received my yearly raise so the two together are quite an increase. Pleased about that...couldn't happen at a better time. Then again, is there ever a bad time to get a salary increase? I didn't think so.
Only downside is that my time here in the forums may be significantly reduced - which may be good for some I guess. But will try and keep the ole training log up to date every day.

Good point...but I'm not quite at a level where that's a concern .

Yeah, but you get to hang out with your kids...I have to hang out with other people's kids.

Being the very proud father of a 7 month old and a 2.5 year old...I understand completely.

Congrats on the new job, Ted!
The workouts look good, too. Are you doing a running program, too, or is that a "when I feel like it" kind of thing?

Actually, I'm using the TT-2K4 workouts with small changes here and there. I've taken a look at other workout protocals, but I always seem to come back to TT. I like the setup and how it allows me to get in/out of the gym quickly. Short, intense routine - that's what I like.

Got up, realtively early yesterday a.m. and went for a run after feeding the baby. Not terribly hot, but very muggy...lots of sweat. Came home and mowed the yard - all before 11 a.m. Gave myself the rest of the day off. Happy Father's Day!
Watched baseball, the U.S. Open and ate cookies my wife and son made me - oatmeal chocolate chip...the best.
Took this a.m. off (scheduled). Back to clean eating today.
Actually looking forward to what lies ahead regarding work - the first time that's happened in quite awhile.
Later.
P.S. Thanks for all the well-wishes!

Congrats on the job and belated happy father's day! We did brunch and an outdoor pool (dang it's been hot lately!)
Not a bad weekend for baseball. Sat night the news made it sound like the Twins shouldn't even try on Sunday since "the Brewers have already taken the series." If we only had some pitching, we would have won yesterday. Talk about a home run derby!

Yeah, we were talking about our boy Prince and his in-the-park homerun and how gassed he was at the end. I was waiting for them to wheel the O-2 tank out for him. Too funny.
It was actually a decent road trip for the Crew - taking 2 of 3 from the Tigers and the Twins is impressive. Let's just hope they're back to playing better baseball.
