Totally makes sense! DS has taken some lessons (he's almost 9) and is having his first outings this year so we're going through trying to explain how golf is good or terrible, depending on the day.

Problem is that my expectations are much higher than my skill level at the moment. At one time, I was a pretty decent player, but I simply haven't been playing much over the past two years (ever since we started having kids...go figure) but for whatever reason, I still expect to play at a reasonably high level. The vast majority of the game is played right between your ears.

No workout this a.m. The 2-yr-old was up from about 2:30 until 4-4:30 a.m. He does this about once every 6-weeks or so, wakes up in the middle of the night and can't get back to sleep. So he usually keeps me &/or my wife up for the duration. A little frustrating, but it doesn't happen that often. So I slept in a little late this morning. Tough part about having two is that the little one was sleeping undisturbed in his room so he was up bright and early this a.m. Will be tougher on my wife today.
Decent night of golf last night. Had lower expectations, but played pretty well. Tried to play more within myself and ended up scoring pretty well. Made some good swings, made some bad ones too. So we'll hit 'em hard tomorrow a.m. Planning on light diet today.
Later...Ted

Due to being off two days, I put together a bit of a hybrid workout today:
Rev Fly (3x15) / Plank (3x30s)
Mid-Trap Raise (3x15) / Side bend (3x12)
Low-Trap Raise (3x15) / Rev Situps (3x12)
Decent workout - going to try and get up to the track maybe tomorrow a.m. (if it's done being resurfaced) or run in the park.
Fat Loss & Diet starting up again on Monday.

Just checking in and trying to provide an update.
New job is keeping me very busy both in the office and traveling quite a bit. Got a couple workouts in this week - no specific program, kind of following the TT principles - mixing upper and lower movements in superset fashion. And using some finishers - DB swings, plate wood chops - something I've never done. Going to try and get out to run this weekend.
All for now...later.

Thanks for the update, Ted. I was wondering where you went!
Good job on getting in those workouts. Sounds like you're really busy.

Goal this week is to get 4 workouts in - 2 weight training, 2 HIIT workouts. Off to a good start this morning:
Lo Inc DB Press (2x10x45lbs) / Rev Pushup (2x10xbw)
DB Row (3x10x45lbs) / Std Pushups (2x10xbw)
DB Swings (2x12x25lbs) / Rev Situp (2x15xbw)
Caught a cold during travel last week, been suffering from that yesterday and today. Doing a run tomorrow a.m. then catching a 6 a.m. flight on Wednesday. Back in the gym (hopefully) Friday. May try to squeeze in a bw workout in at the hotel - depends on the schedule. Busy week this week, again.

Weekly update (I guess):
Still feeling the effects of this cold. Certainly made this week a little rough - had to get up at 4 a.m. to catch a plane on Wed and up at 5 a.m. on Thur to catch a plane. Didn't have the strength to workout this a.m. Going to try and get back at it this weekend. No travel planned for next week. Will hopefully get back into the swing.
Later...Ted

Making this up as I go...
Decided to do a bench press workout today. Haven't pressed a BB in about 6-mos and I was happy with the results and the lack of pain in my shoulder.
Bench Press: 6/135, 6/145; 4/165; 4/175; 2/185; 2/190
For the first three sets I worked in: DB Swings (3x10x25lbs) & DB Row (3x10x45lbs)
For the last three sets I worked in some DB Flyes (3x12x15lbs)
Hoping to do lower body workout tomorrow a.m. Golf Wed night, rinse, repeat.
Still a little congested, but not too bad. Still sleeping like I was dead. May hold off on the HIIT for another week.
My wife is taking the boys to her sister's tomorrow for a week. Hope they don't come down with it.
Logging from home after the workout - work is tight these days, very busy...which is good.
Later dudes...Ted

Sorry I haven't been logging in a while. Kind of fallen (almost) off the workout wagon lately. I had my parents sleeping downstairs for a few days, then my mother-in-law, then I got sick, then I traveled for work, then I got sick again. Work has been very busy and still working through some "domestic issues" with my wife and two kids. Somehow, I've managed to only gain back about 1.5 lbs. Not bad for working out an average of once per week the last 3-4 weeks. Not really following a specific workout, but still following the TT type workouts. Have maintained my strength levels, but my lungs are pretty out-of-shape for sure. I need to get my head on straight and refocus my efforts.
Haven't been around the forums much - been very busy at work with the new job plus, for whatever reason, I just don't get much out of the forums like I used to. A little too much whining and quitting from the "experts" for my taste and too much bitching and moaning from the other members. Just not that productive IMO.
Once I get back on track I will start posting in my log again, but I'm still just trying to see what/when i can get workouts in.
Later...Ted

Thanks guys. Actually got up and worked out this a.m. Not a lot of energy or intensity, but I did the workout. Just kind of flat.
I think the new job and all the travel plus stresses at home with the wife and kids just caught up to me. Working out is normally an escape, but it's just been tough for me to get it in for one reason or another. Enough excuses - need to get focussed again.
I'm going to try and post more often.
