I have decided to jump in and get my feet wet and participate on my first Competition Event. It will be June 1 - The Kidney Classic 5K in Tulsa. It is a walk/run event. I am looking forward to it.

Newman, your goals look great! I know you'll achieve them. We'll all keep each other going! Happy Birthday to you! Just one thing...you'll have to edit your age at the top of your journal...

*edit 29. Being 29 is a little strange. I have always been older than I am interms of how I act, think, etc....but being almost 30 is an interesting realization. all its own. Thank you all for wishing me a happy birthday. It was very warming to see all the messages and PMs.

Yarr matey....how true 'tis. I will have to admit to my being over the 30 hill next year. In the meantime. Warm welcomes are better than cold welcomes... personally I really dislike the luke-warm welcomes. I look forward to your addition to JPFitness. I am certain you have a lot to add. It is good to have you here.

Everyone, Say Hi IPSTER.....

Haha.. I need to get that ipod. They even have cool colors. I really like Intervals. They are a significant challenge and they are short and sweet. I have always despised steady state cardio, but I do like hiking. I just can't do aerobics or lots of treadmill work for extended periods of time.

You don't need to chain yourself to a machine to get results!
I started doing outdoor stair running, so much better than the step mill!

Oh, I know... I just like to use the example of machines. Everyone seems to always think of machines. I love to take my clients outside. They think I am nuts but it works. lol I even take my patients outside in their wheelchairs to get some light and listen to me talk about their nutrition. fun times...

Ahoy Matey! Sorry I missed your Birthday ... but this way you get to drag it out a bit longer ... so Happy Belated Birthday!! I've got you by a decade I was just the big 3-9 ... I dont' want to think about next year!!

I hate machines too ... I am planning to sprint outside tomorrow morning for my intervals (barring any rain/thunderstorms!) ...

So, I am stuck at work and will miss my Event that I wanted to participate in tonight, the Kidney Classic. It is such a good cause and education for those involved but alas there are lots of things to participate in. RT session tonight. Eats today have been very clean...not enough even...due to work interruptions (someone threw away my salad). But otherwise a good day so far. My patients are doing well. Two are coming off the vent. Will log more later.

Just a reminder. I'm curious to see what you aim for and measure, so that maybe I can track those things myself.

Thanks for all your hard work.
