Geez, I'd offer some encouragement but it looks like all the forum women have already come here to fawn all over you.

... so what's your secret?

Sounds like an awesome way to celebrate your 40th.

The 20th is officially over. It was my wedding anniversary. Despite the fact that it has always been one day after my son's birthday, somehow I forgot until yesterday evening.

I was writing, and suddenly I realized it. Somehow, it made me just write more and more and more. It was somewhat cathartic (which means emotionally purging (not to be condescending (which means to talk down to )).

Anyhow, I was camped out having coffee and writing, before I hit the gym. Only I never hit the gym. Suddenly it was closing time at the coffee house. I'd been there for six hours. Wow. Felt like two.

Despite the bad day, I'll list out some good things.
  • I have some good friends. Especially around here. I appreciate you all.
  • My own bailing on the '07 Summit brought on far more nice comments and PMs that I could have imagined. I was very touched.
  • Classmates.com has already put me in touch with my good friend Dean. We'd lost touch about 10 years ago and I don't even know how that could have happened. (Thanks, Julie!)
  • To my male friends. Guys always bug me. You guys don't. I don't like to watch sports. I don't talk sports. I don't really play any sports. I appreciate that you guys are more than that, and could care less that I care less. But, Bill, I don't really like insulators much, either. (but I have three)
  • To my female friends. For some reason, it's always been easier (and certainly better smelling) to hang with the girls. Just Mom and my little sister, growing up. I don't know if that's it. Mostly, I like to talk about life. And when guys get together, life is the last on their minds...
  • Usually, I try to reign in my use of ellipsis... As unlikely as that seems... Yes, it's a struggle... a struggle to not use them. But, today, I threw caution to the wind... Yes. Caution.
  • I knocked out enough to keep my blog going for days, assuming I sandbag. Or, I can use them as reserves, in case of a slump. (I've got to keep it up!)
  • I'm surprised that I missed the workout, but not disappointed. A few months back, I would have been mad at myself.
  • I checked out my Compliance Chart and realized that I haven't had a binge in weeks.
  • Despite working out less, I'm losing fat. Nutrition really does play a big part in fat loss.
  • I haven't thrown up in 23 years (yes, really!). And, I didn't throw up, today. Whew!
Good night.

Wait a minute - you don't like sports? I'm outta here.

Just kidding.

I don't even remember my anniversary date. I know it's sometime in August cos it was the hottest f'ing day of the year (that should have been a sign). Then again I'm a lot further out from it than you are. I do remember the anniversary date of my "parole". That's coming up soon. Good times.

I too find it easier to hang with the females. I definitely have more female friends than male friends. But I annoy the women too as they say I'm just like all the men (whatever that means). I guess they just tolerate me better.

Will definitely miss getting the chance to meet at this years summit. I'm already saving for next year so start putting away your change in a jar. No excuses next year.

Wow, with a list like that, Roland, it looks like you are doing pretty darn well! I got the warm fuzzys reading it. I don't think we stop long enough or frequently enough to truly realize all that we have. Makes me very happy to know you!

Hugs ... I know the anniversary date of my first marriage is slowly starting to fade ... and as of June 22nd I will officially have been married to Matt longer than that first asshole (who left me for another woman ... someone he worked with ... she was giving him BJs in the bathroom at work ... nice, huh?!). It's good to count your blessings on days when you don't really feel like it ...

Whoa. Glad nothing like that happened with me. No affairs, no violence, no screaming over here. Guys like that give guys a bad name. Girls like that aren't too sweet, either.

LD, that's some list.

You know what I envy you most about?

You were so engrossed in your writing that you were there for six hours and didn't realize it.

Maybe that sort of thing happens to you a lot; I don't know. But it never happens to me. Just once, I'd like to be so absorbed in work that I love...that time goes by without my noticing.

That's a blessing.

You have a son and a daughter! That's some legacy, Roland. They must love you a greal deal. How old did your son turn on this birthday?

It used to happen a lot. I'd write for hours a day. I've had writer's block for 15 years... I'm hoping to get back. That was why I started my blog, just to force myself to write anything at all. Plus, I figured it would make me less wordy here. huh.

Tony just turned 9.

I think they are quite fond of me. They're growing on me, too.

Yikes, Julie. That sounds crappy! I can sympathize...I had my share of cheating and lying...for too many years. It nearly destroyed me, but I'm so much stronger because of it. Why can't people just play nice? Is it so hard?

185lbs. I can no longer claim to be losing fat and staying the same weight. I was 195 for a month, which I seemed to drop fat, then all of the sudden... BAM. Fat goes and weight goes. Weird. What's changed? Consistent eating patterns, never overeating, never starving (much), and working out when I felt like it rather than because I had to.

Don't get me wrong, I still get them all in. But I was a religious g-flux, do anything to burn more cals so I could eat more, type of guy. Relax a bit and lose the fat. Works for me. Let's see if it holds.

Wow! Sounds like a healthy mindset for a healthy body & life! Good for you! What's the secret now? I've been trying to lose about 10lbs for months now and it barely moves so I know how hard it can be.

While working out lots does allow you to eat more, it also brings the risk of overtraining and consequently, overeating. After bringing down the volume a bit, all of a sudden it became much easier to manage food intake! No more (or much fewer) binges.

Wow Roland, despite the tough day you had...you seem to be doing really, really well. You're healthy and happy and facing life's obstacles with aplomb (that means self-confident assurance; poise ). Oh, and your abs are like beacons that attract women for miles around right?

You have not one, but three insulators?! Sounds like someone's on his way to collecting. I bet if you have one of these or one of these (both of which were used in your area) you might change your tune about not liking them much!

Glad to hear you got through the anniversary date. Stuff like that can be tough.

Neither of those are in my possession.

I have:

1. Whitall Tatum No 1 Made In USA and it has a little "10" over the words

2. Armstrong's TW Made In USA (little A in a circle) 8 4 6

3. A brown enameled one with no words

Am I rich?
