Default ice's log - here we go! wish me luck

alright, it's been over a year now and I've had it with cutting. I went from 5'11, 210 pounds to, still 5'11 at 150 pounds.

I was planning on jumping into fat loss II from NROL as Ive just finished fat loss I, but it seems the consensus here is to build muscle then lose the rest of my fat. Since I started fat loss I 3 weeks ago, I have def. got more lean. Lost about a pound or two, but who knows it that was muscle, fat or water. As of monday Im starting hypertrophy I and I hope to god this works. I am very dedicated and have my sights set on a very nice, lean body. I am willing to do whatever it takes to get there. I just hope my clothes still fit after hypertrohy I. Please let them fit, I just bought new clothes.lol

Im going to do some research on how to up my calories because Ive been in deficeit for so long and what the best macro ratios are for muscle gain.

Feel free to offer any advice, Im sure I'll need it. This is new to me, I could be considered a cutting expert but gaining muscle is like a new language now. I can use all the help I can get.

1 year ago:
210 pounds
Body fat%: too much
Waist: 38 inches

Starting point now:
150 pounds
Body Fat%: dont know how accurate but I'll guess 10 - 12%
Waist: 29.5 inches

Definitely! After seeing your after pic, you're looking a little too much like "The Machinist." Get eating and go lift heavy shit.

A year of cutting and you're still 5'11". What went wrong?

Hypertrophy 1 is probably just what you need. Followed closely by the remaining Hypertrophy programs and the three Strength programs.

Best of luck.

Saturday: first day upping my caloric intake.

I did some HIIT today. Just to get the ball rolling. Im only going to do it on my off days (Wednesday - Saturday) to try and keep fat gain during the bulk to a minimum.

I'll tell you this much though, it feels so good to not be hungry through the day. I guess I stopped noticing it because I was so used to it. But just adding about 500 calories today, what a difference. I like this already.

Tomorrow will be my day off, then Monday is the start of Hypertrophy I.
I'll let you all know how I do.

See ya

I'm glad you're feeling good and excited about your program.

What did you do for HIIT? How long were the intervals and how many did you do?

i did the metabolic overdrive from NROL.

this is on a treadmil.
warmup: 5 minutes @ 4miles/hour
sprint: 1 minute @ 9 miles/hour
Jog: 2 minutes @ 5 miles/hour

I do that three times follwed by a 5 minute cool down.
19 minutes all together.

Is that good for off days to try and make sure minimal fat gain? Longer? Shorter?

that looks about right. 20 minutes is enough. Make sure you'r eating enough on your off days also as that is when you grow.

That's perfect. Right now, stick with that protocol, NROL says to do it like that for the first 4 weeks.

If you get totally sick of the treadmill and want to mix it up, just ask us.
