Anger management! I like it.

I have a hard time getting up when it's still dark out -- so I'm affected in the morning mostly.

Yes, but so much righteous indignation might explain why I'm so crabby

Eight miles. It felt good, but I'm still slow. It's a mystery to me why I lost so much speed after the big run and then the month off in May and June. It seems like I would have gotten it back by now. But I am much slower than I was. Next weekend I am repeating a ten mile race I did last year. I was very pleased with my time last year, and I'll be surprised if I match it this year. I have no idea what to aim for, frankly.

I did my eighteen miler yesterday. I actually got faster as I went along, but best not to read to much into that because I pretty finish downhill. That, and I decided to bag Macauly's History of England for Aerosmith.

I'm really mad at my father. This made for a very purposeful and satisfying five mile run. I think I'll call him the night before my next race
I've noticed it both while seeing the sun set earlier and earlier, and waking up in the morning and it's darker and darker.

I don't know why, but when you mentioned being mad at your father, I got this whole Star Wars thing running through my head.

OK, he has two mechanical knees and a mechanical hip. If he shows up at the next family reunion with a helmet, I'm cutting off his arm.

Actually, one of the books I listened to this summer was Scaramouche. Not to give away the ending, but it turns out that after Scaramouche cuts the bad guys arm in a fencing duel, he learns that the bad guy is his father. Scaramouche also kisses his sister, but I'm pretty sure that's where the similarities end.

My knee is hurting. I'm going to ice it and get a good night sleep tonight and it will be alright in the morning. Right? We'll see.

That's an interesting family life you have there...

The knee is still not good. I took another day off. I'll see how it is tomorrow, but it may be time to call someone.

Dee, this sucks to hear about your knee. Are you still going to run the Bridge Run on Saturday? Or will it be a "wait and see" kind of thing? I won't be there. I'm taking a placement exam in the morning, playing golf and going to the football game that afternoon. No time for running. Oh, yeah, and my foot is still bothering me.

Wait and See. Do you have a local sports doc? It's time. This sucks. If I stay off of it, it is fine. It hurts going down stairs. And if I bend it to squat down, it hurts for a while. I'm walking around EGR with friends this afternoon, but I think it's time to see a doc. I don't want to make it worse. You need to, too, sounds like. I'm calling around now for recommendations.

Sorry about the races Dee but better to be safe than sorry. There are plenty more races in your future. Good Luck with the Doctors.

Tendonosis.

And my 44yo body isn't expected to heal very fast. I need to lay off the long runs and hilly runs. I waited to long to buy new shoes, and I probably injured it on a hill.

Once it's healed it's healed, though. I just have to be patient. I can still bike and swim.

My September half marathon is out. I can do the 5K tomorrow if I feel like it, but I can't race it. And the marathon is not looking good.

Sorry about the set back Dee but at least once it is healed you are good to go. That's always good news.
