So I get to the gym to run my four miles, pull off my warm-up suit, and suddenly realize...

I'm not wearing any pants.

I'd forgotten to put on shorts under my warm-up suit.

Fortunately, I was in the women's locker room when I realized this.

I ran anyway. Four miles on an indoor track wearing flannel lined warm-up pants.

I'm happy with my splits: 9:10,9:34,9:33,9:45.

I slowed down last part of the last mile so my son could keep up. He ran with me again.

I don't run on the treadmill but I do a lot of fast-paced walking with inclines for my cardio workouts. I use a set of dvds called "Runervals" which have made treadmill work much more interesting for me. They are made for running but I just modify them for my walking speeds. I love the workouts I get from them. They might be worth checking out if you like the option of the treadmill but hate the boredom.

I was picturing the dream that I have heard people have where they show up at a public engagement and realize they are nude. At least you figured it out before it got embarrasing.

Thanks, Victoria, and welcome to my log. Sounds nice, but I use the treadmill at the gym. I took a look at your log. Ah, riding sounds nice. I had a horse when I was a kid, but have only ridden a couple of times as an adult. I should try to do some riding this summer. Another thing that I CAN do now that I wouldn't have done before

Seven miles on the indoor track:

9:37,9:58,9:59,9:58,10:10,9:57 ,9:50

Total of 1:09 - just four minutes shorter than Jim's ten mile run

Nice even pacing! Something to be said for the track, huh?

6 minutes faster, BTW.

I don't know whether to whine or brag, so I guess I'll do a little of both.

For the weakest of reasons, I didn't run Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. And I have been hitting the sweets. This winter has been one long story of slipping and catching myself. I am very worried that one of these times I won't catch myself, and I'll be right back where I was. End of whine.

So today I ran. My moderately hilly four miler. Elevations:
elevation.neighborhood.rixrun.bmp

And here are my splits:

8:59,9:08,9:10,9:01 Total 36:20 Average 9:05

These times are AWESOME for me. And I felt great.

I WILL run all weekend.

Ran three miles. Found out my neighbor's 17 year old son died. Haven't even looked at my time. I have no words.

There was no running outside today! I can handle the cold. I can handle rain. I can handle wind. But not all three at the same time. So I rode on my recumbent bike for 46 minutes, including 3 minutes warm-up and cool-down. I maintained about 14 MPH, upping the resistance each five minutes to what I could stand for 30-60 seconds, then back down. It was a good workout.

I did my long run today. It was my screwiest run ever, but I got it done. The trails weren't cleared, so I just ran around the high school parking lot several times, then hit all the cul-de-sacs in the neighborhood. It was slow. It took me an hour and forty minutes. But I did my eight miles. Not too cold, and no wind. Just a lot of snow to deal with.

Thanks. They've been heavy on my mind this week. I often saw him when I was running. Breaks my heart.

I ran four miles today. I was in yaktrax on packed snow, and my times were slow - about 11 minutes per mile. I figured out how to do lap pace on my Garmin, and I like that setting a lot. Thanks, BamaDave. I'm also enjoying the new mp3 player. I downloaded a podcast to listen to today. It probably slowed me down, but it was interesting.

Four miles in the neighborhood. They cleared my trails. Yeah! I'd love to run every one of my March and April miles outside. We'll see. Here is the elevation of today's run:

elevation.AdaDriveEast.bmp

It's a beast. This is the first time I've run this one with the Garmin, and I was anxious to see the graph. Yep, it's as steep as I thought it was. I usually run this one the other way around - it's a loop. But I thought I'd be running the steepest part uphill if I did it this way. I was wrong. I need to do it the way I was doing it. I averaged about 9:50 min/mi. My last mile was the slowest. My first mile was the fastest. Go figure.

So I ran 52.5 miles in Feburary, lifted not much at all, rode three times and swam once. And I just commited to 103 miles in March Don't mean to scare my teammates or anything!

Don't worry, guys. I averaged 25 miles per week building up to my half marathon. I can do it (If I don't kill myself in the process )

March 2nd. 4 miles. Tried to do a temp run, but was running into 20 mph winds during the third mile. It's been snowing lots. I ran with my YakTrax.
