Thanks Julie My training has progressed nicely over the last year, but I can't wait to get back to where I was 5 months ago. Thanks for the encouragement.

Hahaha ummm no I made a boo boo They were supposed to be straight sets. Though I kinda like the supersets but it may be a little tough with the 5x5 days.

Hey Jenn, how long did it take you to recover from your back injury a while back?

Jenn,
It's great to see you hitting the weights hard. This is a tough program and you are definitely up to the challenge.

I took about three weeks of not doing anything heavy that worked my back at all. I did a lot of planks and non evassive core work to help get it feeling better and keeping it solid. After one month I started slowly getting back into adding weight bearing stuff like squats. I started slowly and gauged by how it felt. On a side note I had Art sessions to help with the recovery, I was guarding my back on that side so I ended up with some tight and ropey issues on the opposite side. I hope you feel better soon Jamie. I still did upper body stuff and some lower body work that did not stress my back. Now I feel 100%.

Thanks John I am loving this program so far. I had some good Doms in my legs ( from supersetting the squats and deads I think). This is just the challenge I needed to boost my modivation levels through the roof

Grrr Well after having to fix my car I can finally get back to the gym. Feeling like a major wuss today too after looking at these numbers too. The last set of each superset was a challenge especially the very last one. I will get my strength back up soon. This winter has been none too kind thus far.

HT-1 A-2 3x15 supersets with 30 secs rest

Superset A
Db incline press- 25lbs/25lbs/25lbs
Cable Rows-85lbs/85lbs/85lbs

Superset B
Db shoulder press- 17.5lbs/17.5lbs/17.5lbs
Lat pulldowns- 70lbs/70lbs/70lbs

Superset C
Db close grip bench press- 22.5lbs/22.5lbs for 10 + 20lbs for 5/20lbs
Power Cleans- 45lbs/45lbs/45lbs

Whew I was sweating up a storm on this one. Definately a great way to get the blood pumping to start off my day. Sunday mornings look like they are pretty quiet at the gym, I like that. Great way to end my weekend, now if I could just get those wimpy numbers up. I know I am capable of so much more but this was tough going this morning. The ends of each superset my body was trying to make me give up, I told it no and pushed on. It listened, this time

Don't beat yourself up over that. That is a tough workout. Those 15 rep sets really do push you and the short rest periods don't make it any easier. You kept the weight up and like you said you were challenged in the last sets. Good workout.

Like you said, it's been a rough winter for you. Kids, sickness, moving, stress over your car... all those things sap your lifting strength.

Don't worry, though. I see you slowly de-wussifying every workout.

Thanks for the vote of confidence guys. Dewussifying huh! I sure hope so. I am hoping I can really push it tomorrow with the 5x5 lower body workout. I really want to get my squat and dl numbers up to snuff. Cross your fingers.

I should have been paying closer attention. I'm doing HT-1, too, and I've been supersetting the squat and DL just as you had been.

3x15 with only 30 seconds of rest is a killer. Your numbers ain't wimpy.

Thanks RacerBill I feel heaps better now. supersetting the two wasn't so bad but I was worried about the 5x5 day. I was squatting and then lowering the bar all the way down to the bottom rack for deadlifts, then starting from there for the squats. That was hard enough with 95lbs I wasn't sure how I was going to get 155lbs plus up from the floor.

I ended up grabbing a second barbell and set up the DLs on the floor in front of the squat rack. It was easy to go from squat to DL that way. Of course, that's a moot point now!
