What's the biggest factor for you, Bob -- emotional boredom or physical adaptation? I couldn't quite tell from your post.

Mostly in my head, Michael. And I guess you can say body too. After a couple of weeks it feels like I'm just going through the motions. I keep adding more weight every week so I keep that challenge up. I felt the same with NROL HT1. Even though the rep ranges changes from workout to workout it was still the same exercises 6 times in one month. It got boring.

Week 3 Day 2
HIIT 6 Intervals Total Time 23 minutes
OK, so today I mixed it up a bit. Did a 30/90 split followed by a 60/60 split and so on for 6 total intervals (3 of each). The 30's that followed the 60's were harder than doing straight 30's. At least it made me concentrate. I don't know what kind of impact this change could have but if I can burn that extra .0001 calorie it was worth it.

Week 3 Day 3
Felt weak today. Still increased all the lifts but it was a struggle. Switched from pullups to lat pulldowns. Still struggling with the shoulder presses, only a little increase there. Lots of work to do.

Week 3 Day 5
Ouch. Hurt my wrist doing the cleans. Don't know if it was on the pull or when letting the bar back down. And the forefinger on my right hand, palm side where the finger meets the hand. Was able to complete the workout. Oh well, a couple of days rest and it should be OK.

Sorry to hear that! Good news is it happened on Friday so no lifting until Monday. Excellent timing! Have you changed the weights, too, or just the HIIT?

I always increase the weights in the next workout. So, for example, if the reps for the sets is 7 and I do 100 lbs and get sets of 7, 6, 6 I only missed 2 reps at this weight. The next workout I'll do 110 for the first set and see how many reps I can get. If I don't get the full 7 I'll drop back to 105, get the reps and may go back to 100 for the last set. I should be able to get the 7 reps but I've also had 2 sets with more weight than the previous week. I see this as trying to make sure I can get overload in all the sets.

Week 3 Day 6
No HIIT today. Too much wine last night. I needed it.
But before the wine the taxes were done. Somebody warn Little Rock.

Week 4 Day 1
Good workout. Wrist wasn't bothering me on the front squats and those are getting better. OH's not so much, shoulders and arms just do not have the endurance yet. Deadlifts are my favorite, I wish I could do them all the time.
Lat week for this routine, lower body changes next week. We'll see what that brings.

Week 4 Day 2
No workout today. I felt a cold coming on and tried to head it off with a Nyquil induced coma last night. This morning it feels like some left a bag of cement in my sinuses. It's going to be a long day.

Thanks, cappy. I hate being sick and it's been happening a lot lately. I must be getting old.

Week 4 Day 3
Still with this cold. Coughing, nose running. I can't go to the gym like this, not fair to the others. So today I did a body weight circuit at home (at least I didn't have to go out into the cold too early). It was:
Prisoner squats
Pushups (slow, full ROM like Hartman/Robertson described)
Reverse Lunges
Plank (60 seconds)
Single leg gulte bridge
Side planks (30 seconds per side)
4 sets of 10 reps. I had to do something. I hope this cold gets lost soon.

Oh dear--I'm sorry you've got a cold. This damn weather! It's mowing us all down. It's very decent of you to keep your germs away from your gym. Not everyone would be so considerate of others.
Feel better soon.

Thanks Sona and Julie. I don't feel that bad, other than my sinuses being clogged up. I think I'm going to be out of the gym the rest of the week. Now I have to figure out some type of HIIT home workout without equipment. Maybe 30 sec. burpees, 30 sec. rests. I don't know, I'll think of something.
