Still pretty sore. My foot is different colors now, which gives my wife proof that I'm not faking it. :p
I am really itching to get back into the gym, but it will probably be another day or two... and then, it will probably be upper body only for a few days.

5/29/07 Body-Weight Exercises
Superset
Push-ups: 5x10
Chin-ups: 5x4
Swiss-ball Crunches: 3x15
Notes:
My ankle felt good enough to finally got out and cut the grass last night. It had been two weeks, and a dose of fertilizer and a pretty rainy Memorial Day weekend. Another day or two and the Home Owner's Association would have been at my door. It was pretty sore by the end, but now the soreness is more of an annoyance than a pain. It is getting better.
I decided after mowing that I should do some more exercises. Thus, the push-ups and chin-ups. I was feeling pretty lazy after a week of inactivity.

New Rules of Lifting
Strength II: Workout B-2 5/31/07
Superset
Barbell Bent-Over Row: [95, 115]x4 (Warm-up) 135x4, 145x4 +10 lbs, 115x8, 105x12 +10 lbs (180 s)
Barbell Bench Press: [155, 165]x4 (Warm-up) [185, 195]x4, 165x8, 145x12 +10 lbs (180 s)
Superset:
Chin-ups: BW+10x[4, 4], 125x12 (90 s)
Dumbell Shoulder Press: 100x4 +20 lbs, 110x4 +10 lbs, 70x12 +10 lbs (90 s)
Dumbell Upper Body Russian Twist: 30x[6, 5] +15 lbs (90 s)
Notes:- 30 lbs is probably way too much on the Russian Twists. Range of motion was compromised. I'll cut it down next time.
- The rest of the workout felt great. It was nice to get back in the gym.
- The ankle has felt a little better the last 3 days, but the bruising isn't going away. I might try some lower body work tomorrow, depending on the ankle.

Wow! I was dangerously close to slipping to page 4. Anyway, I did some lower body work for the 1st time since hurting my ankle....
New Rules of Lifting
Strength II: Workout C-2 6/4/07
Deadlifts: [155, 195]x4 (Warm-up) [235, 245, 255]x4, 185x12 +10 lbs each set (180 seconds rest)
Rack Deadlifts: [275, 265, 265]x3 (180 s)
Superset:
Bulgarian Split Squats: 70x[8, 8] (each leg) (90 s)
Back Extensions: 25x[8, 8] (90 s)
Hanging Leg Raise: BWx[6, 6] (90 s)
Notes: - DL's felt pretty good.
- I either over-did it on the Rack DL's or I didn't have the pins set at the right height, because these were much harder than I expected. In fact, my form was pretty awful.
- I was nervous about my ankle stability on the BSS's, but I actually cranked these out without much discomfort. That was a good sign.
- My ankle was a little afterwords , but I feel like it has gotten much better over the last few days.

Jamie, sounds good about your ankle. I think it would be best, though, if you don't change any diapers for at least 6 months. You might stress the ankle out standing at the changing table.

Great idea, Dave! I wouldn't want to risk further injury that may eventually lead to surgery.
And fyi, there's a 50/50 chance that she is induced tomorrow morning. If a bed becomes available, the hospital will call us. Or if she goes into labor, we'll just go in... whichever comes 1st. I'll keep you guys posted.

Thanks for bumping up my log, Bill. You must have had to save it from page 10 after a week of inactivity!
Here's the latest update...
6/8/07- Became a dad.
Some may notice that I haven't been posting lately. Those of you that know me well may recall that my wife and I were expecting our 1st baby this month. Well, last Friday our beautiful little daugter was born. Hallie Rose came into the world at 1:08 AM on Friday, June 8th. She weighed in at 7 lbs, 6 oz and 19 in long. She is the most amazing gift that God has ever given to me. Words can't describe how happy I have been. Friends and family say that she looks like her daddy. I say she's as sweet as her mommy. This has been the best week ever.
FYI- I posted some pics on the " Kids Pics Thread" in OT if you're interested in seeing her. Off to bed for me!

Thanks, buddy.
In the last week, I've had a chance to get back into fitness mode a little bit. We'll see how that works out when my mom leaves on Wednesday. Anyway, here are some log updates...
