Default Zach's back training log

Some of you remember me, I hope, and know that I've been "under the weather" to put it very mildly. Due to my "condition", I've been unable to work out for several months. Well, last night I changed that. I decided that regardless of my headaches, I'd make it to the gym and "do something" even if I couldn't make it through an entire workout. Well, the good news is that I did get through my first workout in many months! Here's what I accomplished:

A1) 3-Board close grip bench press: 3x8 with 135
A2) DB Row: 3x8 with 30
B1) Close grip DB low-incline press: 3x8 with 30
B2) Wide grip seated row: 3x8 with 110
C1) Reverse-grip pulldown: 3x8 with 90
C2) Rear deltoid raise: 3x8 with 10

And, I topped it all off with 10 minutes of HIIT. (30 secs at 70%; 90 secs at 30%)

It felt great to get back in the gym even though I wanted to leave after my first superset! But, I hung in there. I did have helluva a CH attack that night. Currently, I'm telling myself that the headache is unrelated to the exercise. Please, let it be unrelated to the exercise......I need to shed this flab. I've got TKD tonight for the first time in a couple of months. I'm looking forward to it, too.

So, "hey" to all my internet buds! I'm certainly hoping that this training log will continue to grow day-by-day.

Tuesday's TKD & Wednesday's workout didn't happen because of my damn headaches. But, I did get back into TKD last night (Thursday) with only a mild headache that was easily dealt with some Fioricet (that's a barbituate for those who don't know.) Popped two of those blue devils and I was sailing through TKD. So far today the headaches have been non-existant, so I'll plan on making up Wednesday's workout tonight. I've also set up a private TKD lesson for Saturday morning to make up for my missed class on Tuesday.

Here goes nothin'!!!

Well, I didn't make it to the gym today (Saturday) to weight train, but I did get a good hour's worth of TKD. I'd arranged a private lesson this morning with my instructor. While I didn't learn anything new, we did review all the rank forms below mine. In the coming weeks/months I'm planning on testing for my red collar. For those who don't know, obtaining a red collar means you're certified to teach and forms below your current rank. I did really pretty well this morning, too. It amazed me how much I really remembered!

Next week I'm really going to work getting in a full week's workout. Well, at least 2 days anyway. Gradually getting back into this is probably best considering how long I've been out. My CNS is already pretty stressed due to my headaches and I don't want to overdo anything.

Had to pass on the gym again Monday. Damnit! A couple of headaches Monday (and their subsequent narcotic treatments) left me feeling drained & exhausted by the end of the day. Besides that, I haven't slept well in a few days as I've need to either place myself in a drug-induced coma to combat a CH or I've been woken in the middle of the night with a severe headache! UGH! I've almost gotten used to the daytime headaches, but those little f'ers that wake me from a deep sleep are SO MUCH MORE difficult to get used to! UGH!

Damn! I had to miss again on Tuesday & Wednesday!! I'm hoping I have a better afternoon/evening today so I can at least make it to TKD.

Although, I'm feeling a twinge of a CH right now and I've already dosed with Imitrex once in the last 2 hours so I can't take another hit for another hour!!! DAMN! If this CH grows in intensity, it's La-La Land for dear ole Bond......

I was able to make it to TKD last night, albeit with a moderate headache. Even though today has just begun, I'm already exhausted from a rough week of CH's and getting woken up during the night with a headache. I'm not sure I'll make it to the gym today. I'll have to see how the rest of today goes.
