Cool!

On your move - I used to have family in Vallejo. I grew up in a large family (the oldest of 6 kids) and the last time we were all together for Christmas was at my sister's home in the hills above the old main town of Vallejo in 1985. My sister and her family moved east to Rochester, NY shortly afterwards. Since then, I only drive through when traveling between the bay area and another sister's home east of Sacramento..... I remember Vallejo as a nice place.

Napa, of course is gorgeous, and - for those that don't require full urban amenities - is good as it gets (I'd choose Napa.). Vallejo offers far more convenient access to everything the bay area has to offer, plus somewhat easier access to the Sierra ski areas. But beware, it can still be a pain to get to get around in all the congestion. In my mind, it comes down to whether you prefer a more urban or a small town experience - both places have plenty to offer.

How many chances do you get to live in a pink gingerbread house? It's really adorable.

This shows the front of the HUGE Victorian in Vallejo... second photo is of the kitchen.

Frankly, I'm a little intimidated by this place. It may be too big for just me... and the bathroom has only a shower, no tub.

Wow...tough decision, Tina. Both look awesome. You almost have to flip a coin on this one. I can't wait to see which one I'll be cooking lunch in!

They both look great ... but how often will you have the opportunity to say that you lived in a pink gingerbread house!?

Yup, Ark, I'm in the military, so definitely moving for work-related reasons--i.e., they told me so.

Hey, I know... how about a workout?

I/O mobility warm up (from memory, so I think I forgot some stuff...)

Speed bench (1/2" chain) working sets 60x3x5
NG wt asst pullups working sets -35x4x5

(also did a couple of BW chins the last couple of sets)

Power clean working sets 75x3x3

-I was having a REALLY hard time with the "rack" portion of the lift; it's hard for me to actually shrug it up and not turn it into a reverse curl. So, between lifts I did some bar only explosive shrugs... hopefully will help.

Bending KB or DB press 8kgx12,25#x8,22.5#x10
Renegade Rows 12kgx12x3 (6/side)

Also did some SB rollouts 3x10

Briefly considered HIIT... but

nope.

Workout score overall: I give it an ehhhh....

Yes, both houses look very nice. The pink one seems quite quaint.

Well, the decision has been taken out of my hands--both places are gone. Fuck.

Back to the drawing board. What sucks is that I won't even GET to Cali until around July 23rd... so stuff that I'm finding now, even if it's not available until August 1st, is leasing to others b/c the owners can't eyeball me face-to-face. Not that I blame them, but it just sucks.

Yesterday's food was terrible. I decided to call it a cheat day and leave it at that. I finally had my arby's curly fries, and they were kind of lukewarm and almost fishy tasting... no bueno.

I am in a foul mood today--got to experience the joys of AF dentistry today, and, despite the fact that they've cut us down to an ANNUAL cleaning only, the dental tech "didn't have enough time" to actually descale my teeth entirely. WTF?!? Good thing my husband has private dental and medical insurance so I can actually get a GOOD cleaning twice a year. Bastards.

That coffee habit I have and refuse to give up really does a number on the back of my bottom teeth... dammit, I am allowed one friggin vice, aren't I?

No workout today unless I do HIIT later. Not looking good for it, though.

Rant over. Have a nice day.
