I read a quote today, something about women on the scale are measuring their self esteem more than their weights. How true is that?

For me, it's about 90-99.9% true, depending on what it says. Sad, huh?

Our stats are very similar, I'm a wee bit taller than ya...and your mention of the scale makes me think I should actually get on it and see where I am. I'm just such a head case when it comes to numbers.

Workout was awesome as usual Tina!
Naaahhhh... it's easier for me to just type it. There's a lotta crap in this log to wade through!

I'm cruising to Mexico--only to Cozumel and Progresso--with my husband, my FOUR stepchildren, my mother, our friend, her fiance, and her daughter. We will actually fill the big table, LOL! It's only 4 days, so kind of a trial run to see if the kids actually enjoy it (and don't spend our retirement savings in the internet cafe and on sodas) before we commit to anything longer or more interesting with them on board.

I'm with you on the head case thing, Jen. However, the last time I avoided the scale for any length of time, I managed to put on about 10 lbs total. This way I can actually see and nip it in the bud when I'm heading in the wrong direction. The only problem is that I really get pissed with swings, and hey, I'm a chick. It happens alllllll the time.

I read in Paula's journal that you attended a fitness summit. I'm really interested in hearing about it!! I am currently working through NROL... Hypertrophy I.

I used to run a lot as well... until the beginning of April. Last night was the first time I've run since April 2nd. It felt great, but I definitely can tell that I had not run in a long time.

So far as I know the summit is a LR tradition

This morning:

3.2 mile run/30 mins-ish. I had to bribe myself with the promise of a venti americano at the halfway mark... so it was a nice, SS, out n' back to starbucks.

DISGUSTINGLY hot and humid this morning--very swamplike.

Here is what will soon be mine, though:

Weather for San Francisco, CA 55°F
Mostly Cloudy
Wind: SW at 6 mph
Humidity: 74%

Wed 66°F | 53°F
Thu 70°F | 53°F
Fri 67°F | 52°F
Sat 64°F | 51°F

UGH! All that liquid slopping around would have made me nauseated!!
I'll be so jealous of your Northern Cali weather ... it's soupy here today too ... but should dry out over the course of the day as the front moves through ...

Is it raining over there. It's looking nasty outside here in Houston.

I hate the feeling of liquid jiggling around in my stomach...

If I tried to run to my Starbucks here in SoCal I would most certainly get run over by a crazy driver...

Went to get some food at lunch since I forgot mine... it wasn't raining and it wasn't too bad while I was out. Lunch on the other hand sucked rocks.

Did I mention the fact that I had a POT of coffee before my run?

Yup, I'm an addict.

The only reason I drink hot americanos all summer is that I'll suck down an iced one in like 3 minutes. If it's hot, it takes me at least 10-15.

I tried an iced one once and I swear I didn't get the same buzz I get from the hot ones

OMG! If I drank a pot of coffee prior to running, it would be intervals for sure -- with rest periods at every bathroom between here & there. My family won't allow me to drink almost anything before we leave on a car trip because they swear I have issues.

Iced coffees need to be dairy'd and sweetened up for me. Last summer some place had them with basically just coffee on ice (they strain it a time or two so it doesn't just melt the ice). They definately did not do it for me!
