Alright ... I'm the outcast ... if I had met my husband earlier we'd have a whole softball team, or at least a basketball team!! Alas as I had my first at 35 and my last at not-quite 37 ... no more for us. I am like Jill though ... never really babysat ... don't particularly like the children of strangers ... but just adore my own kids. It is absolutely the hardest job I have ever had ... but also the most rewarding. I totally understand and appreciate women who know they don't want kids and chose to not have them ... it is better to know, than to deny it and have kids anyways and either beat them or screw them up!! I can think of a lot of people I know who shouldn't have had kids ...
Tina, Now I'm hoping you do get DC ... ROADTRIP!!! (of course I'll just talk about my kids all weekend and you all will be sick to death of me!!)

HFT day 9 and weekly update
Fun at the beach... unfortunately not much to choose from food wise so yesterday I ate eggs for 4 of my 5 meals, LOL! I shall begin clucking any minute now.
Lifting yesterday:
A1 deadlift 115x12,135x12/2
A2 decline DB chest press 40x12/3
B1 wt assist chins -60x12/3
B2 DB tricep extensions 15x12,20x12/2
C1 standing calf raise, toes out 155x12/2,175x12
C2 reverse crunches on bench, pseudo dragon flags 12x3
Too tired to run after that, so that was enough.
This morning:
well, the scale I'm using is questionable at best since it varies wildly depending on where it is on the floor. However, the tape measure is a bit more reproducible, and I've lost 1/2 inch on my waist (26.25), an inch on my hips (36), and 1/8 inch off my (bigger) right thigh (21.125) since last week. Today starts the week of a bit more carbs, so I expect to get more running in; alas, some of it will be HIIT style which is NOT relaxing to me at all.
Despite the Mexico trip, husband still wants to come to LR so I will be booking our tix and paying for the summit this week This will delay the purchase of a new car by about a month for me (can't buy until the credit card balance is nada, self-imposed spending rule) but with all of the people there, both speakers and board posters... how can I miss it?
Today: 6 hours of driving starting at about 4 pm. Should be ummm... fun. Not.
I promise, Julie, you can talk about the kids all you want. I ain't no hater.
Tina

Hey! This is really great, Tina--you're a poster pinup. Did you take pictures before you started? And are you taking them periodically? I'm a big talker about pix, rarely take them myself, but I recognize the value in keeping that kind of progress log.

Wow Tina, I wish you could share your diet secrets! I would love to lose some inches. I'm also jealous you're going to the summit. I guess I'll have to wait until next year.

Hey Tina, I keep meaning to ask you...you went on a business trip when you were on GSD didn't you? How did you manage? I'm heading out on a trip this week and I'm not really sure how easily I can adhere? I'm guessing I try to stay as close to the diet as possible without going completely off the rails. Any tips you can give me?

Pack mini baby-el cheeses, one oz pkgs of nuts, and be prepared to eat a lot of lettuce... I also ate a lot of fish and chicken. It is completely do-able, if not pleasant at times, especially when there's some ridiculous breakfast pastry spread at the breakfast meetings.
You CAN do it, though, and since you're getting your refeed this weekend, it helps a lot. Oh, and bring your scale, too. That really keeps your butt honest
Email me if you need to have someone talk you down from the danish precipice!

Thanks Tina. I think I'm less worried about the breakfast spread and more worried about the lunch. With breakfast, you can eat at the hotel and be somewhat full when you show up for your meetings. By lunch time you're friggin' starving and that's when the big sandwich platter arrives. I hate to be the freaky girl who only eats the meat and cheese and discards to bread. But, I will put up with the perceived freakiness if they are thinking..."look how ripped that freaky girl is!" Am I right?
My refeed was heaven, details in my log.

I'm late to the party... what kind of competitions did you do?
Are you liking Joel's diet? I emailed to get in that very last group and never heard anything. He must have had a good response. Then again, I may be better off not getting involved in a program like that!

HFT phase 1/day11
OK ladies... looks like I am moving to Cali, NOT to the east coast.... but OMG, I will be like 20 miles from NAPA, wooooohooo!
Today's workout:
Ran 2.7 miles/24:10 HIIT this morning--tweaked something in my left front of ankle, very weird pain, so stopped after trying to "run through it" two times and walked the last 1/3 of a mile.
HFT ph1/day11
4x12 @14RM 75 sec rest between ss (lucky if I did 60)
A1 Back squat 65x12,75x12/2, 85x12
A2 Seated V grip row 84x12/2,89x12/2
B1 military BB press 45x12/2, 50x12/2
B2 split squat 20#db x12,45#oly bar (between legs, very different feel)x12,50x12/2
C1 seated calf raise 75x12,100x12,100x11,95x12
C2 incline DB press (supposed to be WG BB but gym was full of people today, so couldn't get to the necessary equipment) 35x12/2,x11,x12
Tough workout today!
Brenda, I have done both bodybuilding and figure, and have yet to place higher than 4th... I will most likely do another figure competition at some point but not for a while. Joel's diet is great, I am loving it so far. I still don't have a cheat in the very near future, but she's a-comin', LOL!

That's great! As a native northern californian...I think you'll like it. I'll swing by the next time I'm out there. We can go out for a massive slice of cheesecake w/a side of peanut butter cups. Plus, next time you're in Detroit....
