I think I may push for a new squat PR this afternoon...275 just doesn't cut it, I'm going to wave load the buggery out of it, too.

I have a midget named Little Leo that just holds on for dear life. :p

Actually, I can reach and put a 45-lb plate on my back, but for the second I just ask whoever's there to place it on top. The weights at my gym "interlock" kind of, so they don't slide much as long as I keep my back flat.

Sounds like you have a good helper...whenever I do weighted push-ups or planks with my buddy we end up putting the weights in the most awkward place possible and then while we're actually doing the exercise we prod eachother with our feet in the stomach, arms and legs...there's usually a bit of pinching and throwing swiss balls, as well.

That I can handle...it's when we're doing pull-ups and he starts doing the 'Biggus Dickus' routine from Monty Python that I lose it, hahahaha.

Today:

5 x 9 pull-ups. The first 4-5 were done plyometric style with a release+clap, last 4-5 were done regular. Feet did not touch the ground until all 9 were done.

Thanks fin!

Yesterday, I added a new mini-circuit to my workouts that I think I'll start using more often. It's semi-"the 300"-inspired, but much less sadistic.

25 x BW push-ups
10 x BW chins
25 x 135 lb DLs
In as little time as possible.

I did that mini-circuit twice at the end of my workout. First time through was 2:10. Second time was 1:50. I thought I was going to die on both of them. You have no idea how hard it is until you actually try it... and it makes me realize how far away I am from wanting to actually try that 300 workout.

In other news...

One week of classes left, which means final projects and final exams. Then, I get to put an M.S. after my name

And I'm going to start playing water polo with some HS alumni this summer. Apparently the games are played right in Lake Michigan! How sweet is that!?!

Good luck on your exams, Milk. To get your master's degree after just 9 months is a great accomplishment! My heartiest congratulations.

Many thanks Fin. It's been a lot of work, but the light at the end of the tunnel is within reach.

Today's workout:
DL's: 9 x 3 x 325 lbs on strict 30s rest. Sets were completed in 40-45s each.
-Couldn't get myself ready for that 10th set, so I didn't want to do anything stupid and hurt myself. I was pretty cashed after 9 sets, as this represented a 10lb increase per set with shortened rest as well.

405 should be coming within the next month. Hopefully by July 4(?)

Nicely done.

My back is still playing up...strangely, and my elbow is hurting today...too many curls, perhaps, hahaha!
