Take a month off, Ed. I just did front squats today and did a few sets of 5x165, but nothing compared to your diesel numbers...

Oh, by the way, I sent an invitation for you to be my friend on myspace...surely there is nothing else you want for Christmas?
+ I am billy no mates on there right now...I removed that Tom guy and have 0 friends...something has gone horribly wrong!

Wow, this log has died!
Quick update on my progress:
I'm up to 200 lbs, as in body weight
I've also got my *enormous* tests for school this week. I need to pass these in order to maintain elegibility for my masters at the end of the year... not to mention stay in the PhD program. Lots of work and preparation to do.

Today, I had a mini-accomplishment... almost.
Pull-Ups
< 90s RI between sets, strict!!
5 x 10 x BW
1 x 9 x BW
Couldn't quite get that last rep, but it was close. I was pleased with my performance overall... getting 59 pull-ups done in about 9 minutes

Seriously, awesome stuff Milk. As I've said before, inspirational yet depressing!

Did you finish? Is it the best essay you've ever written?

The essay I finished last week is easily the best essay I've ever written, I'm really happy with it.
The one I handed in late during the term still got a 2:1 after the 10 mark (or 1 grade) reduction, which means I actually got a 1st, so I'm feeling fairly hot in terms of the quality of what I'm producing, I just need to be doing it more quickly.
I've completed the reflective journal (diary) portion of the assessment, which came out to 3300 words. I've written 300 words of my first book review of two, which I'll finish tomorrow and finish the second one the day after. That will leave me with the research project, which will be 3000ish words, but thankfully the books I'm reviewing are on the topic of the project.
Thanks for the encouragment, guys!

Haha, thanks!
I should add that the mood took me to do some heavy deadlifting last night, after a couple of weeks off from them, with focus on elevated DL's, I absoloutely cained them, I should have gone for a new PR. My form felt awesome and I was pulling heavy again.
I'm going to keep hammering away on the elevated DL's and snatch grip DL's and come back in a month and smash my old PR, it's time for it to fall.

Great to hear Ed! I'm afraid you're gonna hit that 400 mark before Steve, Mahler, or me... you bastard!
As for my workout today, I think I finally got the groove for my front squats. My previous 1RM was 175 lbs (weak, I know), but today I nailed 175 with no problem, then 185 with no trouble whatsoever, and finally 195 while still keeping my form pretty tight. 205 wasn't quite there, but it will be soon enough. Besides, I had just done deadlifts right before!!! 3x325 on that, which was great considering my max is 335.
I was really pleasantly surprised with those numbers... especially considering the high levels of stress I've been under lately. When I'm done with my preliminary exams, and after I binge drink for an entire day, I'm gonna get really serious about improving my squat and DL numbers. This last 3 months saw great improvements in all my upper body work, but for some reason my lower body stuff seemed to stagnate on NROL.
Anyway, 2 more tests to go... wish me luck!
