Milk,
You gotta do what you gotta do my friend. School and studies should always come first. I wish I woulda realized that when I was in school. I understand your decision completely, as I'm sure everyone else who follows your log does as well. I'm a bit bummed about it too, but I agree that it's probably the right choice. Do what you need to... we'll be here. Just keep us updated on how things are going when you get the time.
That said, good luck with everything... school, fitness, women - all that jazz. Take care dude!

Thanks Steve, Ed. I'll probably post weekly on Saturdays just to note any new PR's, current weight, etc.

Thanks Fin, Milk and Steve, by the way.
Due to the limited weight available (DB's/lack of spotter) I think I'm going to continue with Strength III for lower body but perhaps adopt Hypertrophy I for the upper body. Can it be done without problems?

NROL Hypertrophy I, Upper Body;
Ai. DB Incline Bench Press, 5x5; 65/hand
Aii. Chest-supported row, 5x5; 180, 195, 195, 195, 180
Bi. DB Military Press, 5x5; 50/hand, 44, 44, 44, 44
Bii. Pull-up, 5x5; BW
Ci. Neutral Grip DB Bench Press, 5x5; 55/hand, 65, 65, 65, 65
Cii. High Pull, 5x5; 132, 132, 110, 110, 110
D. Swiss Ball Crunch, 5x5; 33
Comments: Tough workout but enjoyable nonetheless. Bench press and rows felt strong, military presses were O.K, but had to drop the weight after the first set, although I did complete the remaining 4 sets without a hiccup, I'll try for the 50's again next week.
High pulls were interesting, really felt them in my traps which is good; they need a little bit of work, but had to drop the weight after the first 2 sets.
I like the idea of doing a hypertrophy program for my upper body and strength for my lower body. I feel my legs are pretty huge at the moment and don't want them to get too much bigger whereas I do want a bit more size in my upper body, specifically; back/traps/shoulders. That, and I don't have enough weight at my home gym to carry on doing a strength cycle.

Good work, man and nice goals. At 224, you will be...dare I say it...a BEAST! Home for the holidays, huh? My god, how quickly the days are flying!

Thanks, Fin! I think I'll be fairly large at 224, haha.
The days are flying quickly, too quickly; I haven't finished the essay that I need to do, I haven't done any Christmas shopping, although I'm doing that this afternoon, and...well there isn't a 3rd one but I still rule, mmmmkay!

NROL Strength III, Lower Body;
A. Deadlift;
308x3
308x2
286x1
242x3
264x2
286x1
B. Deficit Deadlifts off box, 3x2; 198, 220, 220
C. Snatch-grip Deadlift off box; 176x6, 132x12
Di. Glute-Ham Raise, 2x4; BW
Dii. Hanging Leg Raise, 4x4; BW
E. DB Bicep Curl, 2x20; (33x11 + 27x9), (27x11 + 22x9) - Feel the burn!
Comments: The wave loading sets of heavy deadlifts felt like shit. I've lost confidence when it comes to going heavy...I just can't get focused for it and my form suffers. I'm going to do deficit deadlifts for this phase, as I'm especially weak off the floor.
Despite my disappointment with the heavy sets I really enjoyed doing the deficit deadlifts and particularly the snatch grip ones; wow, their tough.
A workout that started poorly but improved as it went on, pretty so-so.

Ed,
Heavy deads can be daunting. I can see how you lose confidence from time to time. I've been there, myself.

Thanks Steve and John. I think I just need to grow a pair of balls and get on with it, easier said than done, at times.

Niiice! What type of box are you using? I have a feeling mine's a tad high, I'm using something like this;
That, and, I was taking it easy this week...first time ever doing them. But now that you've given me something to aim for!
