Wednesday November 8 Part Deux
Bench Press
3x5 @ 190
Nice little 5Rep PR. I wanted to do DB bench, but the DB benches were all full.
Close Grip Rows
3x5 @ 195
I don't know what's worse, the obese kid doing 20 lb forearm curls behind his back, or the guy in front of me on the stairs explaining the weight breakdown of what he was benching, and trying to explain to her that the weight clips added a couple of extra pounds. Dumbshit.

Thursday November 9
Foot feels better. Hurt to put on my shoe this morning; but held up with all the walking around campus, so I decided to do my normal running. Did a little circuit before my HIIT because I was bored.
Back Extensions
1x12 @ +25
Chinups
1x5
Overhead Tricep Extensions
1x12 @ 110
Cable Woodchoppers
1x12 @ 50 (Each side)
HIIT
3 intervals
45 seconds @ 11; 75 seconds @ 6.5
That was hard. Girl next to me decided to speed up while I was doing my sprints (I laugh if I'm that influential) and tripped and smacked her face on the treadmill display. That was funny.

I couldn't laugh because I was in the middle of a sprint. Part of me wanted to ask her if she was ok, but I was too worried about preventing myself from falling off.

Friday November 10
Overhead Tricep Extensions
2x25 @ 70
Wide Grip Cable Rows
2x25 @ 105
I about died. Couldn't lift my arms
Lunges
3x8 @ 45 (EH)
I feel like crap. I can't breathe out of my nose, and this is my last day for a week as a free person. I have to work at the paper tomorrow and Wednesday (yay! I get to write obituaries and answer the phones), have a 10 page paper that I haven't started due Thursday, a story due Thursday, and a test Friday that is going to require a lot of studying. Oh and I have an advising appt Monday to officially determine whether I will change my emphasis. That's going to be a relief, but then I'll have to figure out what classes to take.
Thanksgiving break couldn't come any faster.

Sunday November 12
The I'm bored and I don't want to run so I'm going to lift workout.
Dips
1x8
Now I know why I don't do these anymore. Shoulders said no way.
Chinups
1x5
Seated Close Grip Rows
1x12 @ 150
Mobility Work
Back Squats
1x5 @ 135
The goal was to see if I could do back squats without collapsing like a tent. Ha. Gotta work on my core strength some more and my hip flexors. I was falling forward big time
Front Squats
3x5 @ 155
These were better, but I was still leaning forward a little bit. I need to concentrate on staying more upright.
P10 again later today.

Monday November 13
Bench Press
4x3 @ 200
Wide Grip Cable Rows
4x3 @ 195
Romanian Deadlifts
3x5 @ 225
Core Booklet
Part Deux later tonight. No pearls of humor or wisdom from me today. Nothing intriguing happening at the rec.
Only 4 more days of hell until a nice 9 day sabbatical.

Monday November 13 Part Deux
Close Grip Rows
4x8 @ 165
Up 15. That worked out well
DB Bench Press
4x8 @ 80 (EH)
I impressed the hell out of myself on that one. Got a little adventerous, and it paid off. Awesome.
Dudes next to me when I was doing the rows were doing 9 sets of cable flies. Dumbshits. And then they were actually believing that last year's replay of LSU-Bama on ESPNU was live. Really dumbshits. Saw a dude curling just the motherfucking bar in the squat rack--with the clips on too. And there was a girl doing standing overhead triceps extensions-I think- with like 2 lb weights. People are stupid.

Nick,
You are coming along fine. The back squats will improve once you get the core under control. Your bench and deads are really looking good.

Tuesday November 14
Pushups
2x20
I was shooting for 2x25 (I've gotten gutsy lately) but the soreness wasn't letting me get past 20. Bummer.
DB Curls
2x25 @ 20 (EH)
Scapular Retraction Pushups
3x10
Feels so good
Bumping today's (Wednesday) workout back to tomorrow, as tomorrow is a scheduled off day. Reason being I spent 8 hours at the paper--bored out of my mind-- and then have to finish my amazingly smart research paper. No workout time today.
I was incredibly nervous about what I possibly could have done on the city-desk today (heard bad things, don't want to write obituaries because I don't want to talk to grieving people) so all I had for breakfast was a piece of toast with peanut butter. And then I didn't eat until 5:30. Woo!!! Diet on a roll.

Yeah, it took me about a week or so. I had a tendency to use my elbows too much. Now I keep my arms straight and I can feel them much more. I started out on my knees, now I'm at a pushup position.
Friday November 17
BOR
4x12 @ 160
Diamond Pushups
4x12
Deadlifts
1x3 @ 225, 1x3 @ 275, 3x3 @ 295
Not going for a PR or anything. But good form on all of them. Started a little taller than normal.
Saturday November 18
Bench Press
4x3 @ 205
Doing really well on the presses. Shoulders feel good (knock on wood) and I keep moving up. Monday I'm going for 210.
Seated Row
4x3 @ 160
Had to use the damn machine because the cable tower at the Y is really whacko and the tension is goofy.
Lunges
3x8 @ 50 (EH)
Up 5 lbs from the last time I did them. Time to start hammering my legs. I've been slacking off, save for the RDLs.
Core Booklet.
Tomorrow is supposed to be a day off (these last two days were also supposed to be 2 a days... life sucks) but I'm going to do the 2x25 anyway. Today was a crap day. MU lost, brother's high school lost in the state semis in overtime, and I found out that I had $700 less in my bank account than I thought I did. Now I'm poor. Whoo hoo.

Blah!
Sunday November 18
Pushups
2x22
One of these days soon is going to be 2x25
DB Curls
2x25 @ 20 (EH)
Monday November 19
Bench Press
5x3 @ 210
Going up up up. I like this.
Bent Over Rows
5x3 @ 190
I refuse to touch that pulley machine for the reasons stated above, so had to go with the old reliable.
RDLs
3x5 @ 235
10 lb increase
Core booklet
Did some yard work, made some cash. Have a headache; thankfully it's time for dinner. Tweaked the inside of my right knee doing something at the gym. Don't know how. Not wearing my lift when I was working outside probably did me in.

Nice benching, Nick. The rows are looking great, too.
