Totally intrusive question for you.... are you in therapy about your divorce? It definitely helps, IMO.

No. She was in therapy. I'm not blaming therapy, but hey!

I may try therapy to make sure I don't see the same type of person again. It seems to me that I need to change some behavioral patterns and when I'm more mobile I may do that.

I had my eye surgery on Friday. I told my supervisor at work I'd be back in the afternoon but it took all day. The doctor started about two hours late and then decided to do two procedures at one time. This is okay up until the local anesthesia ran out and the lasers kept hitting my retina. That shit burns.

Anyway, I had black spots in front of my eye yesterday and grey spots today.

I have to email my supervisor and tell him I have to see my leg man first thing Monday to have repairs on my prosthesis. More missed work.

The good news is I can exercise again, as long as I use "common sense." I told my Dr. that common sense is a relative thing.

I don't think he was on board with that.

This AM: Chair Squats: BW x 3 x (5,4,4)
Band Seated Rows: 3 x 39 x 8
Band Chest Press: 3 x 39 x 8
KBell Overhead Press: 3 x 20 x 6
KBell Curls: 3 x 20 x 8
Band Tricep Extensions: 3 x 20 x 8

After lunch: Chair Yoga for 20 minutes.

I am a weak tub of goo.

By the way, it's funny how music ties us to events in our lives. After surgery, we stopped to eat and the music in the restaurant was from the seventies. "Hello It's Me" by Todd Rungren played and brought me back to sitting on my bed in my room waiting for the recruiter to pick me up to take me off to the Marines. It was the last song I heard before he arrived.

I wish I knew how to embed. I put it on here.

What do you mean the local anesthesia ran out -- is this on purpose to determine if you have feeling???

You work for the government. They have mandatory rules to protect you. This should not be a problem.

But we know you've got some. No Darwin awards stuff.

The local anesthesia did not run out intentionally. He just has a habit, I think I can say this after two surgeries, of pushing his time to the limit. My anethesia ran out both times and I started feeling what he was doing.

Today so far:

Pushups with my feet hooked in the bed frame: 5, 4 , 4. I am a weak bastard.

Arm bicycle: 20 minutes during political talk shows.

I would second Tina's recommendation ... helped me tremendously. And in the exact vein you mention ... I wanted to learn from my mistakes and not repeat them in my next relationship.

Today: Band Underhand Lat Pulldown: 3 x 10 x 36 lbs
Band Overhand Lat Pulldown: 3 x 10 x 36 lbs
Band Chest Press: 3 x 10 x 39 lbs
KB Overhead Press: 3 x 10 x 25 lbs
Chair Squats: 3 x BW x 5,5,4

I'm keeping things fairly light to get my body used to this. My eye feels okay though. Ankle is not buckling.

If you see a Pergo floor commercial with a white and black great dane, that's my friend's dog.

Depends on what your tolerance is for such things, I suppose. But always good to keep the radar on.

Would you care to elaborate OR is this just your time of the month

Well, if she's dated my mom previously in life, then it's a dead giveaway to run very fast in the other direction.

She's pretty close to my age and we have spoken on several occasions.

Not my time of the month, just in a vaguely crappy mood.

I watched a bunch of comedies today and feel a lot better. I think Norman Cousins was right. A good belly laugh does not cure everything, but it can make you feel better.

If you have never seen it, The Larry Sanders Show was a hilarious send up of the old Johnny Carson Tonight Show.

Workout:

Band Overhand Lat Pulldown: 3 x 10 x 46 lbs
Band Underhand Lat Pulldown: 3 x 10 x 46 lbs
Band Chest Press: 3 x 10 x 46 lbs
Band Overhead Press: 3 x 8 x 30 lbs
Band Curls: 3 x 10 x 26 lbs
Band Tricep Extensions: 3 x 10 x 26 lbs
Chair Squats: 3 x BW x 5

Description: Around 5'6" medium build. Brown hair and dark eyes. Funny. Quirky. Mid to late 40's maybe 50.

Rather sharp personality from what I have observed. Maybe a little bitchy although that never bothered me before. I like people who call me on my crap. I am not interested in doormats.

A little bitchy is not a bad thing, really. LOL Doormats get old after a while.
Looking good in here, Greg and I have to agree on laughter just making you feel better, sometimes.

Started my new job today. It would have been good except the computer and phone weren't hooked up so I couldn't work. Oh and my coworkers make a list of birthdays. And they all gather for lunch. Just shoot me now.

No, there are some really nice people. I just have to get used to the culture which is very different than anyplace I have ever been.

Still there is a lot to learn and the work looks like it will be interesting. It won't be as varied as my old job, but I will get really good at one thing.

Oh no. That means you will constantly be having birthday cakes too. Ugghhhh! That gets so old when you are trying to be good about your diet.

I didn't see evidence of hugging so I'm hoping not.

I don't like most cake so I'm not really tempted.

Today the female soldiers brought over my stuff from my old office, brought me coffee and generally hung out. I have my own personal harem. I just have to remember most of them are young enough to be my daughters. Not that any of them are anything other than friendly and protective.

Quick and Dirty: Seated overhead kbell press: 3 x 8 x 20lbs
One armed bent over kbell rows: 3 x 8 x 25 lbs
Band Chest Press: 3 x 10 x 49 lbs
Band Seated Row: 3 x 10 x 46 lbs
Chair Squats: 3 x 5 x BW
