I have had the boot for a week now and it feels better than my old contraption. That is good. I am not allowed to walk on it yet, because the wound in the heel area of my foot has not healed yet. Patience!
I have had intense pain as a result of the misalignment of my knee and hip and the strain on my thigh muscles. As a result, my doctor prescribed pain medication. Percoset turned out to be overkill for the pain and I couldn't do a things I needed to do to gather information for the Department of the Army for my background check. I am now trying Ultram. I am still kind of zoned, but I can get some things done. I am also finalizing some legal matters for people and need to be able to pay attention.
I got my first good night's sleep last night using the Ultram. None of the good druggy dreams from Percoset though, although I had another erotic dream about Claire McCaskill.
I haven't been able to work out. First the pain got too intense and now, because of the Ultram, I don't trust my balance. The boot is a lot like my temporary leg so it is much like learning to stand and walk on two prostheses. I'm not saying that because I feel sorry for myself, it is just a practical fact. I will have to have surgery as soon as possible to be able to walk and move as normally as possible.

By the way, I had my internists visit and the new diet only took a few pounds off, but blood sugar is way normal and blood pressure is excellent. Only thing is potassium is too high so I have to cut down on bananas. I was using them to convince my body that my fake calf did not need to cramp up.

Okay first of all yahooty on the good news for the boot and the pounds lost. Your body sounds like it is adjusting well. Ultram is non narcotic so hopefully you keep your mental edges sharp and take the pain down a notch or two.
I don't know about Claire McCaskill however . . . she looks too much like Florence Henderson are you having a Brady Bunch delirium?
Sending healing thoughts your way . . . Toni

I've been sitting around too much boo hooing because my brace is not allowing me to run a marathon or even climb stairs very well. Anyway, I got up at 6:00 a.m. in a sort of Mahleresque solidarity to exercise. I'm not so much in solidarity with Mahler, that I'm getting up at 4:30 to exercise!
Anyway:
Crunches: 3 x 20
Reverse Crunches 3 x 15
Leg lifts: 3 x 12
One armed kbell floor presses: 35 lbs x 8
One armed kbell bent over rows: 35 lbs x 10
Over head kbell presses: 3 x 20lbs x 12
One armed tricep press: 3 x 20 lb kbell x 8
Curls: 3 x 25 lb kbell x 20
It felt pretty good. I won't say it cheered my up, but some telephone conversations with friends did.
I can't weigh myself, but my waistline is getting noticeably smaller.
