Thanks. My only cheat was a piece of apple pie after Easter dinner. It has been fairly easy except for the no-carb blues.

Sounds like things are really going well for you right now (well, except for your ankle). Fingers crossed on the job prospects!

Okay well maybe you are not looking for a teenage girlfriend. But, it just proves your friend thought that this young hot chick would be interested in you, so that's a great compliment!

. . . smart thinkin on the 18 year old, most guys wouldn't have thought that one through, but then you are an attorney :-)

Keep up the workouts, you are consistent with them. Bummer about the coffee table, at least it scared you into action. Does TNT allow yogurt on their plan? If so, add some in to help get some good flora back in your intestines after the super antibiotic does it's job.

Ha ha on the hippie comment! Yup, loved them days.

Good job on getting the green light from the 18yo. Saying no is cool enough, but it's nice to get the option though

I'm back with an update.

My computer crashed so I had to get a new one which is not so easy when you can't walk. I got hooked up to high speed internet so it's worth it.

The good news is that it looks like I am going to be hired for a job that I wanted. The government moves at a snail's pace though and I have to gather a ton of background paperwork since they want to hire me before getting the paperwork.

This may be a good thing because my foot has become infected and I am even further immobilized. I am working with a wound specialist named Ginger who is disgusted with the plan formulated by my doctors. She doesn't understand why they have fiddled around with my foot. she asked me to give her permission to talk to my doctors. Who am I to refuse?

I am supposed to get my new brace dnext week which would improve my mobility if I diddn't have this wound. The brace looks like a cross between Gene Simmons footwear and an S & M boot. It is quite stylish. If dGinger has her way, I won't be wearing it for long because she believes that I will be better off if we bite the bullet and surgically repair the foot and ankle.

My insurance is refusing to pay for more physical therapy so this is all coming 100% out of my pocket.

I obviously can't exercise much. I am doing core work every day and lots of curls with my 20 lb kbells. I can't get to my heavier bells. Anyone who could help me thinks I am crazy to want to get them.

I have insomnia.

Still, I am happy about the job and am confident now that I have Ginger working with me. I may get through this yet.

Greg,
My story does not even begin to compare with yours, and yet I am so incredibly frustrated with the system and my insurance. I can get as much acupuncture as I want, apparently, but I'm almost out of PT...

My PT has also asked permission to speak with my doctors (and I'm not refusing!). Seems to me that I'd stop running in circles if they'd just talk to each other and agree on a diagnosis.

Congratulations on the job and good luck with Ginger.

Alright to the young prospect. Even if it doesn't happen we all would love to know that it could.

And most especially a huge congrats on the job. So glad to see that part of your life coming together too.

Hey I missed you! Glad to see you back online. Congrats on the job prospect and I hope it is all you want it to be and more. I am in the healthcare industry and one thing I know is to be persistant -- squeaky wheel gets oiled. Keep up the workouts and get some sleep -- you know it will help with healing.

It is raining hard today and every muscle in my body is sore and my ankle and leg are especially sore. Oh, and I am really hating my Drs today.

3 x 15 crunches
3 x 15 reverse crunches
3 x 10 leg lifts

2 x 10 overhead presses with d20 lb kbell
2 x 20 curls with 20 lb kbell

I can totally relate with the sore... a front moved in and my shoulder has been screaming at me all day and my neck is locked up.

Sorry about the pain - it can be a real bummer, that's still an OK workout.

ps - I work hard at liking my doctors - some things are easy - not this!

Bad ass news on the job. My clearance just finished the renewal process today. It seems like they're moving a lot faster than on the original one, six months or so. Original took something like 18months!
