It just feels nice to be making some progress.

Bill: When I get employed I owe you, Mahler and TrainingGirl dinner. I can't bring a date this time though.

Today: Chest Press: 3 x 10 x 39 lbs.
Ahhnold Press: 3 x 10 x 28 lbs.
Curls: 3 x 10 x 26 lbs.
Tricep Extension: 3 x 10 x 26 lbs.
Leg Curls: 3 x 10 x 30 lbs.
Leg Extensions: 3 x 10 x 30 lbs.

The leg exercises are weird. Not sure about doing them.

with the addition of the leg exercrises, does this mean an actual in-the-gym workout?

No. I still use the bands. I can't drive yet and don't do standing exercises right now.

I still have lower back pain and swollen glands. I went to the Doctor again and he gave me an antibiotic, so I will see if it works. Apparently it is a bug that is going around.

I spent some time arguing with my brother about disability. I couldn't make him see that I am not eligible. He's a psychologist and he can't seem to get it through his head that I am not disabled according to the courts. He seems to think that because he has testified before the court he knows the standard. I represented mentally ill people for years. I would not try to tell a court exactly what form of mental illness my client suffered. Everyone pushes this on me and it drives me nuts. He says he found a grant opportunity for me to start my own business with $75,000 a year for three years. The catch is that I have to be on disability. I have a disability, but the court will not say I am disabled and that is the reason.

I guess you can't tell that I am in the grouch phase of the TNT diet. It's a sore spot that everyone now tells me that it was obvious that I wouldn't be able to go back to work for at least a year when my rehab drs and PTs and my brother were all telling me I'd be up and around and able to go back to work in 6 months at the time.

Plus my mobility has gone backward big time since I dislocated my ankle.

Greg, I am sorry to hear that you're dealing with this new frustration, especially the "I told you so" variety. That's no fun.

I have no words of comfort because I can only imagine what you're dealing with, but I do admire your strength.

I have a friend who nearly lost her life in a fire fighting accident (was read her last rights), and has made a remarkable recovery. She is dealing, now, with some of the same issues as you, and is trying to figure it all out. It's hard.

Guess this is a bad time to drop in and say hello, buddy.

Grouch all you want. It can be a cleansing pursuit.
You have had several setbacks, but damn it, you know you've come through on them all. This is no different.

Head is still full of gunk, but my back pains seem to be gone.

Workout:

Chest Press: 3 x 10 x 46 lbs
Arnold Press: 3 x 10 x 26 lbs
Curls: 3 x 10 x 30 lbs
Triceps Extension: 3 x 10 x 26 lbs
Lat Pulls: 3 x 10 x 39 lbs
Seated Rows: 3 x 10 x 39 lbs

I'm staying away from the lower body extensions and curls because it stresses by ankle.

It felt good to be back working even with bands.

Hi there!
First off, thanks for stopping by my log and for the kind words.
Second, you are absolutely amazing. I just read your entire log (thanks to the blizzard, for the time) and I am just so inspired by you. I will definitely be checking in here and I hope you continue to heal.

I was told they have to complete a security check. How many of those does the government have to do and why don't agencies talk to each other? I had a high clearance when I was in the service. I know that was a long time ago, but I don't have any secrets I can sell anymore.

Workout today: Crunches: 3 x 15
Reverse Crunches: 3 x 15
Leg Lifts: 2 x 12
Supermans: 2 x 10

I don't know why reverse crunches are so much easier than crunches and supermans are harder than leg lifts.

I'm not being disagreeable, but I screwed myself up and put myself in this position. Digging myself out doesn't feel all that inspirational. Just take the lesson not to let yourself to get in a position where this could happen to you.
