My birthday was pretty good. Family and friends around me.
Broke out my bands and did an ab workout before bed.
Crunches: 3 x 15
Reverse Crunches: 3 x 15
Standing Cable Crunch: 1 x 15 x 24 lbs
High to Low Woodchop: 1 x 15 x 24 lbs (each side)
Low to High Wood Chop: 1 x 15 x 24 lbs (each side)
The bands have a resistant measure in pounds on them. I am not sure how it compares to free weights but I got a good workout.

Band Workout:
Bands have tension listed on them, but I have no idea about how they really transfer to free weight resistance.
Squats: 3 x 10 x 30lbs. Resistance was easy, but I am tryiing to get used to balance again.
Chair Squats: 6 x BW, 4 x BW, 3 x BW This is a rehab exercise. Before my leg injury, I could do lots of these. With the boot and bandages, my balance is way off and they are hard.
Step Ups: 3 x 10 x BW.
Chest Press: 3 x 10 x 39 lbs. Out of practice with these, but not super hard.
Seated Overhand Lat Row: 3 x 10 x 39 lbs. Easy until 3rd set.
Overhead Press: 3 x 10 x 20lbs. Pretty easy. I guess from the kbs.
Curls: 3 x 10 x 25 lbs. I was doing curls with KBs so these were easy.
Tricep Extensions: 3 x 10 x 30 lbs. These were strangely harder than the kb version I was doing.
Overall the hardest thing was getting back to lower body exercises though they are the most improtant things to do.
I dug out my striped pullovers so I can remind myself I am a fat one legged fuck so I keep eating clean.

I got a second opinion on the leg today. My leg still has some swelling on the left side of the ankle on the left leg so that has to come down. I also have a dislocated ankle according to this doctor. It will need to be reset when the swelling goes down which will trigger more swelling.
For some reason resetting a dislocated ankle seems more positive than breaking my ankle. The doctor told me I might wish for a broken ankle when the ankle is reset. Not sure what that means.
I ask him about lunges and he told me I would beat the hell out of my ankle.
He didn't say I couldn't do squats.
I hope you are getting a special Valentine today!

I had to have my shoulder reset once. It was painful (the resetting part) but it healed much quicker than a break would have so it is good news in the end.

Workout:
Crunches: 3 x 15
Weighted Crunches: 3 x 10 x 20 lb kb
Reverse Crunch: 3 x 15
Leg Lifts: 3 x 10
Standing Crunch: 3 x 10 x 30lb Band
High to Low Woodchoppers: 3 x 10 x 30 lb Band
Low to High Wood Choppers 3 x 10 x 30lb Band
Went to PT today and saw my rehab Dr. He examined my foot and ankle and told me he will talk to my doctors re: bracing or surgery on ankle. He agrees that the ankle is dislocated, but says if they don't get it right I will have a matching set of legs. Needless to say, I am rather upset.

Sitting up thinking about my leg. I did a little work on an employment contract for a client and prepared a divorce complaint for another. I have been discussing setting up a practice and have received suggestions to set up insurance through my eventual corporation. Supposedly it is cheaper. I will explore Cobra next week.
Moving forward, but I still miss my wife very much.

Dig in deep, Greg. Suck in on your friends and family. I hope you know you got a lot of us around here. You people were huge for me, two and half years ago. But now... meh.
It seems strange to tell people that my friends on the internet dragged me back up... so I don't. But, you did. It's our secret.

I know I'll get past it. It's just good to be able to say I miss her and not get a bunch of judgmental looks or comments by people who know both of us. To be honest, even if we were back together, I don't know that I would ever develop the trust that she would hang in if we ever had future bad times. Still, if I can get past this ankle shit, I could do more exercise and job search and that might take away some concentration on this other shit.

Today's Workout:
Chair Squats: 1 x 5 x BW, 1 x 4 x BW, 1 x 4 x BW
Overhead Press: 3 x 8 x 26lbs
Curls: 3 x 10 x 30 lbs
Good Mornings 2 x 8 x 30lbs
Seated Rows: 2 x 10 x 39lbs
Chest Press: 3 x 10 x 39lbs
As I get more used to the bands it gets easier to concentrate on the exercise. I cut down on squats and cut out step ups and split squats to go easy on my ankle, but then did good mornings. Not sure what I was thinking about that!
