Setback on my ankle. My leg looks like a stick from the wrapping but the ankle has not gone all the way down. The PTs are saying the believe the ankle will heal, but I guess it may not totally. I sometimes don't know why my eventual ex-wife bothered to save my life. To be honest, if I knew about all this shit, I wouldn't have agreed to it. Still, I guess I'm here to learn something, and I guess I'll go about trying to do it.

Greg - hope things look better for you in the morning. By the way I seem to remember that you don't get a lot of useful support from your family. Most single people create their own 'family'. We here certainly want to cheer you up, and see good things happen. But maybe you need to find a group of friends who are supportive where you are too. Rob

I am going to start bitching more often! My ankle wasn't healing apace of my leg and foot so I bitched and moaned at it until my next PT appointment. It was noticeably smaller this afternoon at my PT appointment! The Power of Positive Bitching!

My computer crashed midpost and I had to reload Windows. Anyway, I went for PT today and my ankle is even better. The swelling is now steadily going down. Ankle is still weak due to swelling but I am capable of walking short distances without my cane or walker. This may soon be over and I can go back to the gym!
Meantime:
One Armed Floor Press: 35 lb KB 3 x 10
Crunches: 3 x 10
Floor Press: 25 lb KB 3 x 10
Reverse Crunches 3 x 10
10 second crunches 1 x 10
Overhead Press: 20 lb KB 3 x 10
Curls 20 lb KB 3 x 12
One Armed Triceps Extension 25 lb KB 3 x 8
One Armed Overhead Press: 25lb KB 2 x 8
Ten Second Crunches: 1 x 10
Done!
My butt may be flabby but my arms are hard!

good for you Greg.
What's the long term outlook for the lymphedema - once you are done with it are you done with it - or is it the kind of thing that could come back in the future for no good reason?

Mine resulted from an injury. I suppose if I get the right type of injury it could come back. They are going to provide me with custom made support hose to prevent a recurrence though. A freind calls them custom thigh highs and insists that I ask for a rose on the band.

Greg,
I haven't been in the Training Log section for ages, but just got caught up on the last few months of your thread. Quite a bumpy stretch of road for a while but it sounds like things are smoothing out. I'm glad to see you're still exercising and making good gains with the weights. The treadmill won't be too far way. Keep up the good work!!

Wow, I just read pretty much all of your thread and you are definitely an inspiration to many. Just reading this is motivating to me. I am very sorry to read about all of the things going on in your life right now.... but things will get better.... they always do. Now that I'm caught up I will pop in here more often to see how you're doing.
Here's to a great new year :-)

Hey Greg, glad to hear the ankle is finally cooperating. I so don't envy you and those trips to the PT. Hopefully you at least like yours. I had a pretty good one for my hamstring injury still I hated going to see him. It always hurt like hell. Anyway I noticed with my injury that once the healing started it was very fast. I am hoping the same for you.

I'm making some progress in the recliner workout, but I fear when I go back to the gym, my instability will result in starting over again again. Still, I am limiting the damage. I have added cheek squeezes and some leg band work to limit the flabby ass syndrome.

I get inspired by the guys like Mahler ans Stingo who just work out every day and eat right and make steady progress. My first inspiration in this manner were guys like CouldItBe and Popeye on the old MH Board who learned what they needed to learn and steadily did what they needed to do to make the changes in themselves that needed to be made. I believe they would agree with me that it is only inspiring if you are standing outside of it. Still, we all take our inspiration from others, so thanks for the kind words and I'll just keep trying to improve.

I just hope you are able to juggle the improtant things: exercising, eating properly, doing your job to the best of your ability and loving your loved ones properly!

My PTs are very cute, very kind and very good at what they do. I look forward to not having to see them, but they are doing a very good job at treating me.
