Yeah, I guess so. I do sometimes feel a little selfconscious, but the helmets look awfully good!

Squatting

Thanks. My PT emphasized squats and leg presses in my therapy so I am going heavy on them as far as numbers. I feel strange squatting with just a bar but that is all my balance will allow. Hence a lot of sets of low reps. As I get better, I will reverse that. Then I will begin adding weight. The goblet squats and the dumbell squats are easier to balance. I can strengthen my legs with the leg press and hack squats for more weight.

Tried something different for cardio today. I did the following:
5 minutes Nordic Trac
10 minutes treadmill
10 minutes lifecycle
10 minutes Nustep
5 minutes rowing.
The hardest thing was the rowing. I'm not used to it and I did it last. I could barely walk out of the gym!

Today I went to the gym and did the following:
Warmup: 5minutes NuStep at level 6.
Squats: 45 x 10 x 4
DB Bench Press 40 x 10 x 4
Leg Press: 270 x 10 x 4
Seated Cable Rows: 105 x 10 x 4
Goblet Squats 45 x 10 x 4
Crunches 10 x 4
4 circuits 2 minutes rest between circuits.
Intervals after on lifecycle:
5 minute warmup
4 intervals 30 fast and 90 active rest
3 minutes cooldown.
Crawled home and took a shower and then I went to see my rehab doctor. He told me I have a lateral whip in my gait and to take it easy until the leg is adjusted. It looks like I am taking tomorrow off to get the leg adjusted and will work out again on Saturday.
So don't mess with me or I will whip you with my lateral whip!

Thanks! It's just a matter of the prosthetist adjusting the leg. Hopefully we can get it straight with an adjustment tomorrow.

Gotta love those goblet squats for getting low. Nice job on the circuits. Thats a workout that will get the blood pumping and the sweat pouring out of you. Be careful in traffic when you are crwaling home.

Today, I went to the gym and then I watch a lot of college football. In fact the USC v. Nebraska game is on now. I don't care who wins, I just want to watch college football. I do think the ACC and Big Ten games have more of a collegy feel though. I can't put my finger on why.
Workout:
Squat with bar: 10 x 3
Leg Press: 270 x 10 x 3
Bench Press: 115 x 10 x 3
Hack Squat: 75 x 10 x 3
DB Military Press: 30 x 10 x 3
Step Ups: BW x 10 x 3
Waiter's Bows: 10 x 3 (These look weirder than hell in a gym!) (A little had on my balance as well.)
Goblet Squat: 45 x 10 x 3
Crunches: 3 x 15
Reverse Crunches 3 x 10
Machine Back Extension: 50 x 10 x 3
Good workout. It was cooler out and I didn't get that half sick feeling you get in the heat and humidity. My leg hurt so I need to call my prosthetist again. My prosthetic cut my leg a little so there probably is still some lateral whip in my stride.

By the way. I think I'm feeling happier the last two days because I am puppy sitting for my brother. Really, Max is a dog, but he's a Shih Tzu which I think is chinese for little cute dog. He's laying on my lap while I am typing this. I have to get a place that will let me have pets! Job! Apartment! A couple of cats!

dogs are awesome. I think when we get back to the states, we might get one. PROBABLY a Shih Tzu at that. They're cute and laid back, don't really bark. Little poo's. And it's a dog, so that makes it 10x more awesome than a cat.

Nice workouts this past week Greg.....Yea, you should eventually move to a place where you can enjoy having a dog or cat; they can be great company. Hopefully your job hunt will prove fruitful soon.

Are you kidding? Friends of ours have Shih Tzu's (well, only one now as the other one was about 100 and died recently) ... and we call it the crack-dog because he barks CONSTANTLY!!!!
Dogs are awesome, but if I want something cute and cuddly that will sit in my lap I'd get a bunny ... we have a Lab and he's great with the girls ... loves to be active and do stuff ... and is a great companion. I like my dogs to be DOGS ... not cats in a dog suit!!!

Well I had a great day today with Max. We played hand wrestle and sock pull and he licked my arms and face to death. It was just what I needed. I got an email from my wife and she is excited about her mission to Bolivia. I love her and I'm happy for her, but I'm sad that we can't share this excitement. So, more dog play.

My friends have a Shi Tzu named Larry and he's awesome. He loves to have his fur blow-dried.
